I despise this guy, but any player that signs with him immediately tells me all I need to know about them. Dude is a two bit hustler that got big because Lebron liked one of the counterfeit hats he was selling out of his trunk.

is that really the correct protocol? to hear huge news that your star player wants to be traded, and not hear it from him, and you can't ask him how he feels about this or anything, you have to talk to his agent?

I said it in the other thread in different words, but this article is basically a billboard letting players know that if you sign with me, my ego will supersede my client's interests.
As that is ultimately what he is saying here.
Paul wanted to extort the Pelicans privately, but when Demps decided to contact the employee he employs to discuss and confirm, Paul took that as a slight and tanked the reputation and interests of his client by going scorched earth publicly.
And I am not sure how SI concludes that snippet as evidence of player power? It's agent power that failed horribly and if anything is a reminder that the narrative of unlimited player power in this league was greatly exaggerated.
