If I’m Cuban, I am starting to get VERY nervous about Luka demanding out.

They gambled and lost on not extending Brunson and have now blown their depth in order to get Kyrie.

Would that hurt the team more than blowing so much on a rental of him?

Yes... Pels wins + losses by Mavs/Jazz (whichever is better)

That game served a purpose. It woke them the frick up. 7-1 since.

If the Pels can go 3-1 over the last four with a win at the Wolves, I feel that probably puts them in top 6.

I think that would probably get them the tie breaker over the Warriors with the conference record. I think the Warriors probably go 2-2 over there last 4.

The Pels would own the tiebreaker over the Clippers.

That would put the Pels at 43-39.

Other teams in the Race to finish ahead of us would have to:
The Clippers would need to go 3-0 over the last three.
The Warriors would have to go 3-1 over the last four.
The Wolves would need to go 4-0 including beating the Pels.

You have to do a sign and trade with Kyrie now, because if not, then the asset walks and you lost all your investment for nothing.

April 2 games of note (bolded teams are who Pelicans fans should cheer for... most should be obvious but still though)

Blazers @ T'Wolves (yeah I know... not getting this 1 )
Mavs @ Hawks
Lakers @ Rockets (yeah I know... not getting this 1 either )

The Jazz & Mavs both have very lose-able games on Sunday... we can all but have the play-in spot clinched by the end of the day on Sunday with the chance to make it official at home on Tuesday

- The Pelicans can have a maximum of 42 losses as of the end of play on April 1
- Both the Jazz & Mavericks have 41 losses after April 1 games
- Must consider that the Jazz have the tiebreaker over the Pelicans and the tiebreaker with the Mavs is still unsettled
- Pelicans must win enough games to get below the 41 losses currently had by those 2 teams... Jazz & Mavs must both lose more than 42 game... or some combination of the 2 must move the line to where the Pelicans can not lose more games than the Jazz & Mavs both currently have
- Therefore... the Pelicans current magic number as of the end of play on April 1st is 2

if BOTH the Mavs & Jazz lose on Sunday... the Pelicans magic number falls to 1

Wanting that 6th seed BAD now.

Those rockets and OKC losses are going to bite us in the arse
