We need guys that can play and that have been in the league recently...

Chalmers and Thompson to me are the best bets

Thompson is a take for sure...second player cook or chalmers depending on what you're trying to accomplish. Chalmers is what he is, Cook has potential.

I don't disagree with any of that. All I was suggesting was an insurance policy to keep Boogie from getting any more T's and missing games because of it.

He would be effective in that capacity, even without ever seeing the floor.

they have one open roster spot
they have three current roster spots taken by players who cant or wont play

and you want another one?

they need a guard who CAN PLAY, right now

Point taken.

I didn't realize the roster situation was so dire.

Jack would be along the lines of what you're thinking of.

FWIW, I have been operating under the assumption that before Thursday TJ and possibly AA will be traded for a guard or two.

If that doesn't happen, then yeah, the whole dynamic is different. I guess this may be a don't count your chickens before they hatch sitation...

ajinca isnt bringing back anything useful unless a pick is attached. jones maybe, but its not necessary to move him now...he's already useful

dont over think this...they will sign one guard off the street, and roll with that. it wont be chris duhon

Career 3pt numbers:

Chalmers: 702/1962 35.8%
Cook: no NBA experience
Williams: 199/544 36.6%
Thompson: 357/917 38.9%

Jones and Boogie share an agent (Dan Fegan of ISE). Now that Boogie is coming over, the agent wants him to play somewhere else. We will accomodate Jones' agent and hopefully get a small asset out of it, though I would imagine they would have a LOT of input on where he goes.

The Trail Blazers are taking calls and willing listeners about standout point guard Damian Lillard, per Amico Hoops sources.

Not taking calls would be stupid, and willing listener just means you gave up a bunch of free information about your team and probably other teams.

Even with this draft stacked at PG, if I'm trading Lillard it'd be this summer. Trade him to Dallas now and you get a pick in the 8-10 range. Trade him to Dallas this summer and maybe you can get Fultz and Jackson with your pick and their pick.

Stein was on the Lowe Post pod this morning, and they alluded to Cuban wanting to acquire picks in this years draft, and hold on to their young assets. Sounds like they're going into rebuild mode.
