Yes he said hes all good now

He'd be at the top easily but we'd be in line behind contenders like CLE who badly need a backup pg and who's knows how he's doing.

I think I would be down for any. I assume it'll be Reggie and one of Chalmers/Cook

we aren't winning a championship this year. Chalmers is a win this year pick. No thanks.

no sure I understand your point. if Chalmers doesn't have a job he'll take whatever contract we offer

It's not that. everyone knows who Chalmers is. if you picked him up, it would just be for this year.
If you pick up Cook or Thompson, and they play well, and then you keep them next year and they continue to play well, they turn into future cheap contributors, or assets to get a better player. That's impossible with Chalmers. Cook and Thomspon give you that opportunity. We've seen Ish Smith, BDJ, Ennis, and now Frazier come out of nowhere and become potential assets to us. We seem to be good at that.

anyone they sign now is just for the year.
not knowing holiday's final number and casspi/DMo/jones/cunningham being unknowns they should not commit salary past june for replaceable players

if they want the 8th seed, chalmers is the best bet

I'd be down for Chalmers and Williams

Can't we trade Jones for a decent point guard though or is he being used for another position?

Chris Duhon is only 34, and would make an excellent locker room presence with Boogie on the roster.

Career 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio and 36.3% 3-point shooter.

Plus he's like having a pastor in the locker room.

He could always tell stories about playing pickup games against some trash talking state senator from Illinois. Barack something or other.

You'll have to elaborate. I don't get the reference.

He was at Salmen in Slidell and at Duke while BHO was a state senator.

Then I say sign Chalmers for the rest of the season and see what they want to do over the summer. Accumulating assets is great and desperately needed but I believe there are bigger fish to fry. The 8th spot should be the goal. Boogie gets to the playoffs for the first time. It builds confidence and optimism in the players, coaches, and management for future in NOLA. It'll attract free agents.

Missing the playoffs this year would not build optimism in the future so I believe a playoff appearance is a must. Chalmers come on down!

Barack Obama used to play pickup games against Duhon while he was a Bull and talk a lot of shite in the process.

This is before Obama became Senator from Illinois let alone president.

I agree. Goal should be playoffs and work from there.

Must've been his rookie year. I could've sworn BHO was a US Senator by 2004.

In any case, my points are valid. Even if he doesn't play he'd been a good leader and locker room presence.

ETA: BHO would have to be completely delusional to talk trash to a guy who he'd never be able to score against and who could score at will against him every possession. Then again, if history is any indicator that might not be too far off base...

Chalmers makes some sense...get him plus a guy like Swaggy or Morrow with the exception and you have some good shooters around for the second unit.

I wonder if that kills Frazier's minutes again though.

Vince Carter is a hall of famer who altered his game as he aged...

Chris Duhon has been out of the league for at least three years

My reasoning was more about his locker room presence than playing ability.
