Man, I know it’s probably for the best that we get some better lotto odds, but the close L’s always hurt, especially when you can point to 10-15 makeable plays, and we only needed 1-2 of them to win.

I wanted that win. Bledsoe is such a freaking idiot. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse with Bledsoe, he once again makes the worst play of the game.

Yeah man, I wanted it too. They played really hard and deserved it. Sometimes it’s nice when effort and hard work is rewarded. Jaxson needs to log on Insta and tell SVG to suck his dick for not giving him minutes down the stretch lol.

key game experience for the young players even if Z is out is more important than say getting the 8th pick vs the 12th.

We saw good minutes from Jax/Kira/Gabriel tonight and further confirmation that the current starting back court needs to go because Lonzo/Bledsoe earned the team some more ping pong balls. 2 Birds, 1 Stone.

That end of the 3rd run was one of my favorite moments of the season. I love how everyone on the bench was excited for the effort the guys showed.

Does the Lakers finish in the standings matter for us this season?

Meaning, do we have their next draft pick outright, a swap, or just not at all?

If it’s not top 8 in 2021 it becomes 2022 unprotected. The odds of them winning the lottery from 14 are bad meaning they’ll likely keep the pick. I think we want the Lakers to lose to the Warriors and then win the 8 seed. Hopefully that keeps them around 20th in the draft like they are now and gives them a tough draw in the playoffs.

Bulls won tonight too, which was good for us as far as lotto odds.

We want the Lakers to get the highest seed possible, as that makes their pick lower in the draft, and less value to trade for someone.

Pull for them to finish with either a top 4 pick, or be the 1st seed, no in between.

I disagree. We want the wheels wobbling now so that they will fall off next season. We want the Lakers to have to overpay this summer for crappy free agents, because everyone will see that this is a team on the decline.

I am rooting hard for every Lakers loss.

The 8th seed would have them around pick 16, the 5th seed would have them around pick 23-24.

That's a huge difference in trade value, and what type of player they could trade it for to help them.

Players already see Lebron is declining, and everyone already knows AD can't lead shite by himself. Brooklyn and Clippers will get all the ring chasers for the foreseeable future imo.

Draft order is based on record, not playoff seed. Assuming things stay roughly where they are then they would be tied with the #4 seed in the East for records. That means half the playoff teams in the East would draft before them. If they played out my scenario where they finish 7th in the West but drop to 8th seed in the Play In, they'd be tied for 20 with the Knicks if everything else stayed where it is right now.

I agree with GOP. We want them wobbling.

8th has them losing to Warriors which sends the message Steph > LeBron. It also has them facing the possibility of falling out of the playoffs all together, which we don't want this year, but just being there it's not a good look for them.

Dave McMeniman already said this feels like a broken team. Pick 20 doesn't fix that. It's possible they lose Schroeder and Harrel but still don't have cap space. Best case scenario for using pick 20 is to turn one of those defections into a S&T to another team for a comparable, but hopefully overpaid player. That's not saving them, that's just keeping this wobbly car rolling.

I'm well aware of this.. A better record gets you the higher seed...

My point is if someone forced their way put of a team that's an above average player, then a better pick gives their package better enticement to make a trade. Or say Lowry gives Toronto an option of a S&T to either the Lakers or Miami, you want LA to have a lower pick than Miami in that scenario.

I'm not advocating for them to lose out and fall to 8. I'm saying stay at 7 where they are now (picking 20) and fall to 8 via the play in. I am kind of torn on the falling to 8 part. Losing to Steph and being in the Play In facing elimination will take some of the shine off the franchise. However, Phoenix then Clippers is probably the harder path to the WCF. We want them to look so bad a guy like Lowry doesn't think he's the missing piece.

Also if picks in this year's draft are important to Toronto, then Miami won't matter. They owe their pick to OKC.
