I don't think it's a lack of motivation. I think it's a lack of confidence since Zion went down and they lost 10 straight. Not sure how they get that back.
Part of motivating as a coach is instilling confidence in the team. If the team isn't confident, that falls squarely on Willie.
Not saying he should be fired, but if he's not the X's and O's guy, he needs to make sure the team is mentally right.

They're double-teaming Herb on offense and we're not really making them pay. Annoying.

He does, but at a certain point talent falls short. He’s asked the role players to play above their head all season long and they have until recently. At a certain point talent outweighs confidence, and when our talent has missed as many games as they have the role players cannot play above their role for that extended time

He plays so soft it’s frustrating, just gets bullied down low

This is the same team that had one one of the records in the NBA from the day of the CJ trade.

Everyone keeps screaming give it to Jonas but Jonas is soft as frick at critical moments.

7-0 run erased in a flash.

A lot of these guys are gonna have to get traded.

Poeltl is dicking Jonas down. Wish we could have acquired him

Two things factored in to this, first one is role players playing above their heads, and the other one is Zion has been that damn good when he played this year.
Zion carried this team to their record this season, look at the record with him and without him.

We definitely should've gotten Poetlt or another big. Should've traded Jonas too

They need to get JV out of there. He lost a rebound and now just got the ball stolen because he hurt his hand.

And they played better and more aesthetically pleasing basketball last year without him than they are playing without him this year.

I fricking hate this team sometimes.
