It makes no sense that he’s trying to build on an 11 win team. It would be one thing if it was year 1 of a rebuild and the team has 11 wins. But it’s not. There is no future where this team is built into a championship contender. And if a championship isn’t always the goal, then what are they even doing?

A complete rebuild increases the odds of a title. Not this bullshite.

I love that we're trying to get back in the 2026 draft after Joe gave away 2 lottery picks in that draft for some bullshite return.

Marc Stein
@TheSteinLine

One source close to the process tells @TheSteinLine
that there are no discussions between the Pelicans and the Grizzlies on a potential Ja Morant deal ... despite persistent speculation to the contrary.

According to Stein, there are no discussions between the Pels and Grizz about Ja.

Another source saying Memphis wants a future 1st rounder. LOL. Let’s see if Dumars folds and gives it to them again.

I've heard we are looking to send Missi to the Pacers for Mathurin, as well as Jose out the door to someone.

Mathurin is on his final year of his rookie deal and maybe the Pacers arne't looking to pay him.

quote:

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Indiana Pacers are exploring a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans that would see them move on from Bennedict Mathurin in exchange for Yves Missi.

"An incomplete deal framework that could still make it to the finish line: There have been whispers about various trade constructions that would feature Missi landing with Indiana and swingman Bennedict Mathurin heading to New Orleans," Fischer wrote.

From today:

quote:

Mathurin has been out with a thumb injury, and from all accounts has been able to play, but hasn't been put back in the line up until today's weird 1:30pm tip off, but with the trade dead line looming it's all been weird. What does it mean?

He is playing today, and tearing it up. Supposedly had some weird IG tweet or whatever the youngens are calling it these days.

Weird trade since you have to pay him big money after the season. And we sure aren't going over the apron.

lot of smoke about it, and it seems inevitable Mathurin is getting traded very soon.

He'll be a restricted free agent, and he was wanting around a 4/$100M contract extension.

I like him as a 6th man scorer.

You have to think of adding him knowing Poole and Murray aren't on this team.
And i wouldn't worry about salary and tax crap right now. We aren't a threat to go over the tax regardless of what we do.

I don't see how they getting of Poole and Murray without taking back bad contracts.

They'll get rid of Poole this offseason with ease.
He's an expiring. At worse, we negotiate a buyout for a lesser amount so he can go sign somewhere else.
The Nets and Jazz have salary cap space right now to absorb some salary, and i've shown it before on this board them using it to save the Cavaliers $100M by trading Jarrett Alen and getting back just Missi.

Murray is probably a bit harder to move, especially if he doesn't play this year.

Pels to be “largely on the sidelines at the trade deadline in an attempt to quietly run out the clock on their own incompetence” is the most hopeful headline we could see at this point.

What woulda a trade for Michael Porter Jr look like? Seems the Nets may be looking to trade him.
