I love these type of contracts. But this seems like a move that we made because we are gonna trade Hawk. You already have Herb, CJ, and Hawk all getting minutes at shooting guard.

So are we somehow going to be under the luxury tax now? Honestly I’m going to be frustrated if we’re under the luxury tax while having the cheapest group of centers in the nba

Yeah, this was the cheapest way to get the roster to the mandated 14. It is not predictive of upcoming roster moves.

Obviously, Griff is still going to be more focused on trading BI. But if we get to the deadline and no BI trade is on table, then Hawk might get dumped to get under the tax.
