Listening to Sirius/XM this morning and Isola said that Jarron Collins will be Green's lead assistant. I think most of us thought he would be an assistant, but I would be a bit surprised if he is the lead. I would expect someone with previous HC experience to fill that chair.

Collins is one of Green's besties I think, so its not a big surprise if he's on staff.

Pretty big surprise as Lead. I still think they will add a former HC at some point.

Isola knows this before anyone else? Seems weird.

Why is that weird? Not like assistant coaches on the Pels staff is huge news around the NBA such that Woj needs to report it. Isola could also have bad info, but just passing along what he said.

Woj and Shams tweet assistant coach news all the time.

OK, then you wait for them or MM to tweet it. I am just reporting what I heard. Actually hoping he got the "lead" part wrong.

I do not doubt its correct.

I just thought it was weird that Isola would have this news before anyone else.

Sounded like he must either know Collins or someone close to him by the way he reported it.

No new rumor but Nigeria has been bounced from the Olympics just in case they were waiting for Mike Brown.

Surprised we have not heard any news about the staff by now.

Agreed, which is why I wonder if Brown coming back from Tokyo soon is significant.

Assistant, but not lead assistant. Right?

Isola knows Jason Collins. Heard him talk about it on Sirius

And it sounds like Jarron Collins left Golden State to pursue lead assistant jobs. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s the lead here

42 years old, 10 years in the league, Stanford educated, seven years at GS and won 3 titles with GS. Was coordinating their defense the last few seasons. Has received high praise from a lot of Warriors. Sounds like he ultimately wants to be an Hc

Shouldve searched for this thread before starting one for D'Antoni, but it seems odd to step back from the Nets and ostensibly take his first year off from coaching since like 2000.

Knew that was coming.
