I agree. Can you let Willie know this please lol

And to your point it why Im not high on Dyson because to me offense is always more important. Because to me if Dyson is say elite defensively and maybe average offensively- for a lottery pick is that worth years of investment? I would argue not but understand others feeling differently.

So from "solid to good" to very good. Seems like you can't keep your bad argument together imo.

We won’t agree and thats ok.

Yeah we won't. Because you're wrong. Until you can admit Dyson is an elite nba defender you will be. That's ok with me too.

And I mean Kyrie was definitely cooking people but Hardaway was just on fire from 3 not sure what else Dyson could have done in that matchup

It's hilarious he's using that argument when Dyson helped shut Tim and Kyrie down literally the game before. Kid has selective memory or something idk

Lol you don’t let shite go. I replied to someone else on this thread and you just kept going with me out of nowhere.

Now I know why random posters attack you out of nowhere.

Theres ways to argue and have a discussion and not take things personally. You don’t have to be a constant a-hole about it. I honestly was trying to end the argument amicably.

Ok Im wrong in your eyes. I personally don’t care.

Hardaway had 24 and Kyrie had 33 the game before. I guess that’s shutting them down in your eyes.

Those are both above season average in pts for them.

You bring whack arse takes to this board a lot. Dyson being a "good to solid" defender then refusing to admit you're wrong even with stats telling you your wrong for several pages makes me an a-hole for what? Proving you wrong to the point where you change your argument by saying he's "very good" yet I'm the a-hole lol

For an incredible player like Kyrie that's pretty good. Hardaway got more usage with Luka being down but he got 24 on 17 shots which isn't that impressive either. Shut down? No, I was wrong about that. See how easy it is to just admit you're wrong? Try it.

This is like the third time I've said it, but I'm done, and will not engage with you in any future threads. Get into it with other posters like you always do. Have at it bruv

Yes you’re the ahole because you take differing opinions from you as whack and wrong because you don’t agree with them. And you’re not the judge of proving people wrong. You think you’re right because you said so.

You literally think saying Dyson is not an elite defender to mean im an ahole that brings whack takes????!!! You can’t just get pissed at people because you don’t agree with them.

Like how the hell did you become a MOD on this board???

Again, no. I'm saying he's in the conversation of being on Herbs level, and can be even better given their age difference. Which he absolutely is. He had starter minutes when cj was out and shut down several guards to start the year. Those weren't minimized minutes then.

Which defeats your "solid to good defender" argument of Dyson. He's an elite defender

Dyson's ceiling is significantly higher than Herb's. That's what this comes down to. And, yes, Dyson is an elite NBA defender -- one of the top five on-ball defenders in the league. Here's a new stat that I just saw a few minutes ago, showing yet another example of Dyson's elite defense:

quote:

BBall Index
@The_BBall_Index
The top 10 guards in deflections/75

1. Alex Caruso
2. Dyson Daniels
3. Kris Dunn
4. De'Anthony Melton
5. TJ McConnell
6. Nickeil Alexander-Walker
7. Josh Okogie
8. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
9. Jevon Carter
10. Bogdan Bogdanovic

(The reason that Herb is not on that list is that they consider his position to be SF -- not a guard. EDIT: They list Herb as 10th among forwards in this category.)

Such a high ranking for a "solid to good to very good" defender.

Another great stat for Dyson, proving he's worth developing this season and giving him another offseason to see how much he can add to his game offensively. If he can get herbs instincts he might be one of the top 3 defenders in the league before he turns 22. Which is crazy.

After missing out on OG Anunoby and then Pascal Siakam, the Kings will continue to look for a forward upgrade. Jerami Grant, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Herb Jones are among the names they're expected to explore options for.

I think part of the problem is he’s stated Dyson was a bust or we shouldn’t have drafted him in the past. Pretty sure he’s made that statement on here. So taking that into context, his posts make sense.

I’ve said before I think Herb is better today, but in two years DD will be the better defender.

quote:

They are different kind of defenders. Dyson is a lockdown, 1 on 1 defender that has elite anticipation like Jrue did. While Herb is no slouch individually, his strength is reading the play, that's why he has so many highlights where he shuts down multiple opposing players on the same play. If the task is "stop this player from scoring" I'd pick Dyson. If the task is "stop the team from scoring" I'd pick Herb.

100% agree with what Tiger said here.

I’ve never said he was a bust or we shouldn’t have drafted him. SO TAKING THAT INTO CONTEXT, maybe you should stop assuming shite about what people post.

Why would they trade Herb? Good defense on good contract and can knock down few shots. Seems this guy would be top 8 player on a championship team.
