Come on. Have you seen the roster he's had to deal with? The one season we had All-Star caliber players on the roster we went to the playoffs and took LA to 6 games. If Monty has high caliber talent he can lead us to the playoffs every year.

@McNamara247: Was just told that only way Hawks bring I'm Tyreke is if Dwight agrees to sign with them. Dwight wanted to have third star of he signs

0% chance Dwight goes to ATL.

Yeah, teaming with CP3 was probably their only shot.

He has to visit another eastern conference team I think. It looks like he will sign our offer sheet though. Wonder if Kings will match.

I think Atlanta is going to strike out on big FA's and end up bringing both Smith and Teague back.

Found this tidbit online:
quote:

If the Pelicans wanted a scoring guard/forward, why not offer Andre Iguodala? Hell, I would have sooner overpaid for JJ Redick or OJ Mayo, both of whom are better shooters than Evans, and dominate the ball far less.

Redick and Mayo.

Yeah, those guys are who you go after to win games. Not the 23 year old former rookie of the year with sky-high potential coming out of an awful system.

I like Reddick and Mayo but overpay for them?

Pelicans should hold out for great deal. RT @phelpsalot: what's perceived value of Vasquez and Lopez around the NBA?

The problem is teams know we have time constraints.

McNamara has thrown out Lopez for Jeffery Taylor which would give us a cheap ($788k) wing shooter and cap space. And I've thrown out Vasquez for Aaron Gray to cover the hole at center. Unless you trade them for cap space and future picks that may be all we get if we have a tight deadline limiting our leverage.

Webster agrees to re-sign with Washington, so there goes a potential cheap SF.

Taylor would be a great fit. Solid shooter, good athlete, good wing defender.

Not so cheap.

Not expecting him to get over $5 per. We may end up with scraps at SF, and I mean less than Aminu scraps.

I'm not sure what I liked more about Big Sloppy, the fact that his uncoordinated awkwardness let me imagine a 7 foot version of myself playing basketball, or that he never believed he fouled anyone
