You guys should start listening to me more often. Gordon buys into the team and this S&T gets done.

I still don't like that we have to give up both Vasquez and Lopez for him. Obviously his worth more than both, but he would just sign with us outright and I really don't think the Kings would match. I can't believe we couldn't have just gotten him for one or the other.

I'm just waking up, and while I'm ecstatic that we're getting Evans, I was really hoping we could use Lopez and/or Vasquez as trade pieces to acquire bench players and a 3/5
But either way, great news to wake up to today. Now maybe I'll be able to focus on studying

it sucks we gave both of them away, but Evans is a special talent, while Lopez and Gravy reached their ceiling.

You couldn't really do that as Lopez had to literally be off the books for this to work. Taking a player back just adds more salary/

It's about using them in other trades to help us. I agree we were going to deal them anyway. But I was really expecting to be able to use them in other trades.

We probably could have if we were willing to play chicken and take this all the way up to 11:59 pm on the 9th, but then Demps would have lost 5 prime days to pursue free agents. The cost wasn't worth it. They needed to clear cap space with Lopez anyway so at best you were probably getting a few 2nd rounders for him. Demps can get the value of a 2nd rounder from Dleague FAs any time he wants to. Nothing of serious value was lost and what was gained was a higher quality role playing 3 and 5 that we'll be able to get now that Demps can move on.
