I'm guessing Gordon is staying. If he's healthy, this is fricking amazing.

I have a bad feeling I'm going to wake up and this news will be contradicted by a new report

That's just kind of the way this has all been going down lately

I'm glad you brought in pessimism, it helps keep us grounded

And kings fans still have hope

Reading all the rationalizing going on on the Kings board is pretty enjoyable

Oh well, need to get some sleep so I can get an early start to drinking all day tomorrow

GO PELICANS

Sac fans trying to convince themselves that Lopez and Vasquez is a great consolation prize.

I love dealing Vasquez and Lopez. Let's keep this train rolling.

We need a 3 (SF) and a 5 (C)

The Pelicans are just sick athletically.

I'm thinking we are going to have to deal Gordon IMO.

ETA: Holy frick Gordan is making 14.25 mill

I have a question for all of you supporting this decision... How many contending teams this year that had a superstar only had one superstar? None. Miami has three, San Antonio has (arguably) two. Memphis doesn't have any superstars so they built a good team to that suits their best players, same with Indiania (Paul george is a second-tier star imo.). So, from the top four teams, none. So if Cousins does turn into a superstar, we need to hope either McLemore becomes a star or we trade for another superstar (doubt it will happen)...

I am not liking a single bit of this move...

Not necessarily. We should have close to 3mil or more to sign someone once it's all said and done. We can essentially go over the cap if we trade for a player. The possibilities are endless. Demps can pull role players out of his a**. I'm not remotely worried about that at this point.

I really want to see a Holiday/Gordon/Evans roster for at least 1 season.

This is one of the worst things I've read in awhile. Absolute sell-out move that makes no sense. Passing on Igoudala so we could then pass on Evans for spare parts? Not even the Salmons/Jimmer trade was this bad.
lol

I really kind of feel bad for those guys though

What a brutal couple of first days of free agency for them

Eric Gordon is signed for 4 years / $58.37 million with the New Orleans Pelicans. He is making $14.28 so I don't know if we could unload Gordon even if we wanted. The guy hasn't played much and it's a steep price to pay.

I want to shop Gordon anyway just to see what's out there though.

With the sign and trade agreed to, Demps can now try to use nonguaranteed contracts and about $4.5m in cap space in other deals. - 42

Deal can be done using trade rules allowing the Pelicans to go over the Cap. So he can use the space, do the trade, and use Room MLE. - 42

The Roster can be filled out with two more middle salary players and minimum contracts like Mason, etc. - 42

Lmao. I'm sorry but this is funny to me.

quote:

I will not believe this. I refuse to believe this until some more solid news aka Tyreke comes out saying so himself or ink on the paper.

Evans was still steadily improving during some rough team restructuring in the last 2 years. We WILL regret this, I can promise you that. It will be 100 times worse than losing Gerard Wallace.

(PS: I hate Twitter!)

They better.hope players don't read their forums or no one.is gonna wanna play there.

quote:

A Vasquez level player. What is that exactly? A guy that got a lot of assists playing for one of the worst teams in the league. I find it comical that the same guys that dismiss Evans talent because the team didn't win now excuse that in the worse record guys we are picking up. And don't give me the but they aren't paid like franchise guys because we are looking at an increase for Vasquez in a year.
