That Morris deal is actually way below market value...assuming he doesn't end up in the clink, of course.

As for Ryno, he needs to be on the table(not specifically talking about this rumor). He's an expiring contract on a team loaded with long frontcourt contracts. Davis/max, Asik/bad deal, Ajinca/locked in. I keep saying it but we can't afford to add, likely ~15 mil per year, for Anderson to that frontcourt. Especially when the rest of the roster is so weak. Now if we can dump Asik's deal, i'm all for keeping Anderson.

Anyway, everybody but Davis should be available. In particular, our two main expirings.

He's not a defensive liability, and could fit well next to Davis defensively.

Trading an expiring Ryno for 4 years of Morris at $8M per? No thanks.

What the deal? That's a steal for Morris if you think he can improve this team over the next few years

Anderson is an $8m expiring in a growing cap. I mean I get it but it's not like he's an Eric Gordon expiring

A kieff/AD frontcourt could actually be really legit. He's a post scorer that can defend well. People have been wondering what a post scorer could do next to AD.

His deal is cheap with the cap going up and what if we can get pj Tucker in the deal too?

This concept is so god damn frustrating to think about. Let's trade a player on an expiring contract for his poor mans version on a longer contract. If dell does this I will completely loose any faith in management and rip my fricking hair out. I don't have patience for stupidity and this would be utterly retarded.

I respect you Lobos but your sunshine pumping knows no end.

no he isn't. He lives and dies by his mid range jumpers and his defense is atrocious. You pulled that out of your arse.

yeah let's acquire a team cancer poor mans version of ryno whose contract is just kicking in. Smart move.

This is true. The more I think about it, the more I think about how awful Anderson is on defense. He makes the whole team suck on that end.

Maybe he should be traded. In fact, I'm down with it. Trade him for Morris.

Markieff is a different type of player than ryno

It's better than resigning ryno to a 12+ mil deal as kieff makes much less.

8 mil in a 90-100 mil cap environment

I think Kieff would be perfect next to Davis. I've been thinking about that pairing for awhile.

They would have to find a way to trade for a 3 point shooter if they trade Ryno though.

252 shots at the rim at 61%

179 shots from 3-10 feet
219 from 16-3 pt
179 from 3

Meh

Anderson will likely double his $8m salary in the market next season. Compared to Morris making $8m? Lol. Anderson is not that good mate

In Markieff Morris' best season (2013-14), he was at his best playing next to Channing Frye in the front court, not a "traditional" center.

Pelicans FO is notoriously tight-lipped. Interesting that this is leaking now.

This could be just PHX

Someone also said that ryno being shopped is bigger news

Might not even be for kieff who knows

That would be such a terrible move. I wouldnt trade Anderson unless it was for a mid range pick or a young prospect. We have a desperate gm who is about to make a panic trade.

We're either gonna: re sign Anderson to a big contract this offseason, basically locking this roster in again

Let him and Gordon walk, to open up space. After we don't get Durant, you're basically looking at using that money to sign a few lesser players than Gordon and Anderson

Or you move them for value while you still control them.

Either way, I really doubt any trades happen until Dec.15 at the earliest when new FA signings can be traded.
