Pelicans first draft workout will be next Friday June 14th and it is an individual...College basketball player of the year Trey Burke

It is clear what the game plan is...Saric #1 on the board PG improvement #2 and Center #3

This is the word on Alex Len "His highlight tape looks great but in games he looked stiff and am not sure he will be better than Robin"

This is the word on Burke "he isn't faster, more athletic or a better shooter than Greivis, but if he is he could give us options"

I just don't get it.

Why pick him if they feel that way. I don't think GV will command a huge contract after next season when he's an RFA. Probably a bit over the MLE.

That whole post, if Miles is accurate, points heavily towards trading the pick for a veteran, which is what I've really wanted if Oladipo, Porter, Noel, and McLemore are gone.

What kind of veterans will be on the trade market that we'd want?

I seriously doubt we'd trade the 6th for Luol Deng or most other 3s on the trade market. Unless Atlanta is willing to send us Al Horford to play center, I'm unaware of a lot of possibly available vets we'd have a real interest in.

This seems a bit contradictory

It's pretty clear that the Pels staff isn't very high on CJ.

His handles and passing are ridiculous for a guy his size and his shooting may not be as bad as advertised:

And for those of you worried about his FT shooting b/c of his performance in Adriatic League, he shot 23 for 27 in Croatian League playoffs

I don't get it either. I don't see him being able to guard NBA SFs.

This sounds like they are skeptical based on what they've seen so far but are giving him the chance to wow them at the individual workout.

Yeah that makes no sense at all. He isn't...but if he is?

I think that was supposed to read "but if he is there..." Meaning it gives us trade opportunities.

If this all is true, then go McCollum.

I don't see how that's clear at all. We are just now starting to hear about workouts today. It isn't like Monty and Dell sent out a mass email telling the fans who they like and don't like.

A huge mistake IMO. Lack of outside shooting is a deal breaker for me with perimeter players.

Have you watched any highlights of the kid? He looks really impressive blowing by euros. IF that part of his penetration game translates to the NBA he will put pressure on the defense from the perimeter even without an outside shot. He wouldn't be an offensive liability like Aminu is.

I haven't watched his highlights, but Bellinelli's Euro highlights make him look like Kobe.
