Given the timeline of 2018-2023, the anonymous Jane Doe (would Moriah really stay anonymous?), and the threats Zion allegedly made, to this woman’s family. I almost wonder if this is a normal ish chick that Zion met in college or in the back end of high school. If it is, it’s possible some of this stuff is true. If it’s a porn star or a woman like he is with now, it’s probably a false, money grab.

Either way, it’s not great. He either is truly a shite human or keeps gravitating towards shite humans. Neither are qualities that you should want to continue to stand behind for a 7th year of dragging down your franchise and fanbase. I’m honestly good with letting him go, even if he didn’t “rape” this woman.

I’ve dug up some of the old Moriah Mills stuff, just out of curiosity, and she mentioned multiple times that they had met 3 years ago and started to provide her livelihood in 2021 (this was reported in June 2023).

So I really do think, this suit is from someone else. Which is troubling. Bc the best case scenario was that it was from crazy Moriah.

Just sit him until this accusation is cleared up. Sit Dejounte all next year to heal up. Tank and get another top pick and the trade or cut Zion depending on the outcome of this accusation but either way he’s gone

How many years has there been some sort of controversial Zion bs in the offseason or during season since being drafted. Seems like every year. Dude is a colossal frick up

Having said that, Zion has zero value in a trade until or if this situation is cleared.

What for... to draft guys that will waste away in the organization?

Pels need to be sold. Close the books an NBA team in Sin City.

To be fair, we have actually had a lot of people quality humans on the team for the past 6 years. It’s proven even more so when they go be part of successful teams in other cities.

The only 2 that weren’t. Jaxson Hayes (been gone for awhile) and Zion.

But largely we have had a group we can be proud of off and on the court, they just have not had the right star to lead them. Zion has always been rowing in the opposite direction of the team and their core values. Ingram was higher character, but was so terrified of a 2nd blood clotting ending his career, he ultimately sat out too many games to be a reliable star we could rely upon.

We just need to find a reliable star, to pair with the high character Herb’s and Trey’s, and this organization will both be watchable and competitive again.

Unfortunately it might take tanking and not taking the flashiest, most “obvious”, pick in the draft. We are likely going to have to go international to find and develop this star as all of the American “star players” come up through a gross AAU system, a worse NIL system, and a shitty sense of entitlement that has many players thinking they are too big to play nice in a smaller market.

same... he and Moriah don't go back to his days at Duke...

so that likely means this is the 3rd woman related drama associated with Zion, that we know of... Mills, the baby momma threatening to kill another chick (or some shite like that), and now this...

at what point do you just really say this guys is NOT going to learn?

A disaster of a franchise just got worse. Make the games played for Zion drop to 12 for this year.

Time to sell this shitshow it’s an embarrassment to NOLA.

We're just making a bunch of assumptions and hot takes.

The Pels need to hire pros to do their own investigation and make a determination prior to Zion's contract deadline.

If there is credibility to these allegations, the plaintiff should have some kind of evidence to support her claims--texts, voice mails, eyewitness testimony, travel records, financial records, medical reports, etc...dating from the time period of the allegations.

Absence of such evidence would severely undercut her claims. If she does have supporting evidence (as, e.g., Shannon Sharpe's accuser did), it doesn't mean he's guilty or every allegation is true, but it would be hard for the Pels to keep him as the foundation of the franchise.

I'm a fan of basketball in New Orleans. Zion has been an incredibly frustrating player to try and build a team around. If new management chose to just void his deal and move on, I'd still be a Pels fan, though obviously it would be a huge disappointment. But, if I'm being honest, it would also be a huge relief.

I can’t stand bitches that do this, it should be illegal to wait years and then all of a sudden out of the blue you scream rape so you can get a fat check and ruin a career. Now Zion has literally zero trade value for us. We are cursed.

We could be a capspace player and take back bad money for assets if Zion’s money isn’t on the books
in july, his next season contract becomes guaranteed.

And if he plays a certain amount of games during the season and meet weight requirements (which has been apart of every other year since signing the new deal), the rest of the contract should be guaranteed.

I say should be as in it meets the requirements of the contract. Not that i think it should.

Unfortunately, he aint going anywhere unless you want to just have capspace disappear and get nothing but 10 day signees for the next 4 seasons.

The Athletic story states there was a mediation of the claims that failed to reach a resolution.

This raises a very clear question of what the Pels knew about this and when did they know it?

If they knew, you have to question having Z represent the franchise at the draft lottery earlier this month. It was a PR move with this PR disaster hanging out there...
