You think we would go into the tax?

We wouldn't?
Poole= $34mil
Hawk= $7mil
Looney= $8mil
= $49mil

LaVine= $49mil

Tax, salary, apron increases and is expected to go up another $15-$17mil. The full MLE is $15mil and we should have all of it in this scenario. We wouldn't be able to do anything else but we add LaVine + C and keep everyone so nothing else is needed.

Not really but we should base lineups on matchups and the best 1-2 group. If starting 5 is enough with Herb and you can roll out LaVine/ Bey that's not a bad thing.

Seriously. Year 8 is the year you think Zion will finally lead us somewhere? YEAR EIGHT.

Zion is healthy and his trade value is higher than it has been in a long time, it is time for him to go. We will not win anything, ever, trying to rely on Zion to get us there. Running it back is just crazy.

I think some are just being realistic, and we might not have any other choice. Zion has guaranteed a huge chunk of his contract for next season. So we can't cut him. He still doesn't have good trade value right now. So we don't have a ton of options.

It's fair to say this has been a decent year for Zion and he's made some strides. I'd be interested to see him after a summer of serious training and proper direction/instruction. If he commits to a proper program and there is a plan to maximize his skillset. Worst case, he has some value we can flip at the deadline, if we go full rebuild.

I would rather do a reset this summer. But the timing just isn't good. It's better to kick the can to the summer of '27 to flip it all over.

IF we have no other choice, that is a different scenario. I'm just replying to someone who just wants to run it back with Zion. Nobody should actually want to run it back with Zion. If we have to, so be it, but actually wanting to? Ugh no thanks.

I disagree here. I think his value is the most it's been in a long time. He *fingers crossed* has had a healthy run and shown he could possibly play a full season. 21/5/3 stat line for a full season could be appealing to a number of teams trying to get over the hump.

There's not really anything he is going to show next year that makes him more appealing than he is right now.

Yeaaaaa how do you not get tired of saying this? I mean you've had to have said it for seven years straight right? I know I did for probably 4-5. He is who he is.

As soon as Dumars made the trade for Queen, we had no other options. Running it back with Zion and this core next year is the only sensible move right now. The best we can hope for is unloading Poole for a wing that can shoot. There's no big upgrades coming this off-season.

What is a list of teams that Zion would make sense for and actually improve them after they send out a decent piece or 2?

Keep in mind, it would have to be a team with abundant shooting, a rim protecting stretch big, and at least 2 players to run the offense through in the 4th Q when the whistles tighten and you need someone to be able to A) dribble, B) have court vision and decision making C) have shooting range and D) who can shoot free throws

So we're at this part of the Zion era Pels cycle of depression again?

Do any of y'all think that Zion has added weight since the start of the season? He came in skinny, and that just didn't seem to work. Zion's play has improved as the season has progressed, but it looks to me like that has happened as he put some of the old muscle back on.
