Would be OK if the player Atlanta covets is still available at 17 with a flip of 17 and 43 for 20 and Reddish. Doubt that is a big enough jump for them though.

Yeah I would probably do that too. Would require a deal not happening with teams in front of us.

Also would require us not really liking a prospect at 17 and/or another vet trade we have lined up.

This is a trade Washington wants to make with Bradley Beal in mind, creating some salary cap flexibility for the future to add talent around him, sources tell ESPN. The idea of returning to his Los Angeles roots has been appealing to Westbrook.

The Utah Jazz are in serious talks on a deal to send center Derrick Favors to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell me and @Tjonesonthenba.

Don't do it OKC, he offers nothing

I’d offer Lonzo 4/82 16 19 22 25. He is worth 16 at least and he has always gotten better.

Utah would be sending OKC assets to take Favors. Utah has to dump salary.

Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Toronto and New Orleans are known to be interested in unrestricted free-agent center Zach Collins, sources said.

Collins would, in my opinion, likely get around the BAE of $3.7 million, because of his injury history and the fact that he's unavailable until January.

Also, signing him would likely mean that Billy would not be coming back.

From the same article:

quote:

Forward JaMychal Green could very well return to Denver, yet New Orleans and Minnesota are rumored by league sources as potential landing spots.

quote:

While TJ McConnell and Doug McDermott are expected to have interest in re-signing with the Pacers, the Pelicans, Nuggets and Suns are said to be pursuing the marksman from Creighton.

quote:

For the Bulls, there's believed to be mutual interest with Lonzo Ball on a four-year deal worth over $80 million. If the Pelicans do not renounce Ball, that agreement would have to come via an offer sheet, which New Orleans would have the option to match.

Also from the same article:

quote:

Bryn Forbes parted ways with Milwaukee after not playing in the last three games of the Finals, and league sources said the Brooklyn Nets are believed to be a leading candidate for him. Other teams to keep an eye on: Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas and New Orleans.

That’s a lot of players we are poking around. Several of them 3/4 or 4/5 BAE/MLE types. Interesting.

I assume Forbes as a back up PG would be really cheap. And an extremely good 3 pt shooter.

I definitely thought McConnell was a better 3 point shooter than he is.

This is Hollinger on Forbes's market:

quote:

Bryn Forbes, Bucks (player option): $5,443,739
Bryn Forbes has proven to be a situational playoff player, with his usefulness dependent on the Bucks’ opponent in a given series. Regardless, he’s sure to make more than his $2.45 million player option salary for next season, and so opting out seems like a no-brainer. If so, it seems likely he’ll have a new home. The Bucks can only pay him $2.8 million without dipping into exception money, and Forbes can probably command a bigger deal than that after shooting 45.2 percent on 3s for a conference champion.

Hollinger on Green's market value:
quote:

JaMychal Green, Nuggets (player option): $5,276,257

JaMychal Green has a player option for $7.6 million next season, leaving him with a tough decision that likely depends more on years than the money. One presumes Green’s general market is likely the same range as it was a year ago, but the 31-year-old would probably like to lock in more than one year at this point.

Green’s value to the Nuggets is pretty clear: He shot 39.9 percent from 3 while toggling between the four and five and did a solid job on the boards. If he opts out, the question is whether the Nuggets can afford to bring back both him and Millsap (above); and if not, which one they would pick.

On McDermott's value:

quote:

Doug McDermott, Pacers: $7,947,236
Shooting never goes out of style, and Doug McDermott made 38.8 percent of his 3s last season, which is why he’s likely to have a lot of interest around the MLE. McDermott is also a canny cutter who really weaponizes his 3-point threat with his off-ball movement, shooting 64.1 percent on shots inside the arc and displaying particularly good chemistry with Domantas Sabonis.

Indiana has full Bird rights on McDermott but has a tight squeeze under the luxury tax if it wants to keep both him and T.J. McConnell; in the absence of a trade, the Pacers will likely have to choose one or the other. If it’s not the Pacers, expect several teams to have interest in McDermott with the full MLE.

I don't. I think that Griffin is working multiple pathways for the team at once and exploring every option.

I'm so glad that we don't have a "Lowry or bust" mentality, but that, instead, we're going to find a way to improve the team regardless of how several other chips fall.

Fischer has kind of proved himself when it comes to Pels related news at this point. Being the first to note Vaughn as our front runner, then Willie Green as our leading candidate post Vaughn’s withdrawal, first to report on our discussions with Memphis around the 10th and 17th pick.

I think it’s safe to say that whatever his vetting process is at this point, it’s a good one. At least when it comes to the Pels. His record regarding us is basically spotless this offseason.

I think that we're going to find a way to dump Iwundu. If that happens, and if we re-sign Hart but let Lonzo go, then we have five slots open.

There might be spots for Billy and/or Wenyen, but maybe not. If we just kept Billy, we could do something like:

Lowry
McDermott
Forbes

That would give us:

Lowry
NAW
Ingram
Zion
Valanciunas
Kira
Forbes
Hart
Naji
Didi
Murphy
McDermott
Hayes
Billy

That still leaves a spot open for Herb Jones, if he can earn it.

What about gorgui dieng? He can stretch the floor and protect the rim a little bit. I can’t image he’d cost much at all. I’d rather him than JaMychal Green
