Because you eat up significant cap space for 5 years with absolutely nothing to show for it.

So, EG and Ryno for Ilyasova, Mayo, and Middleton?

No, it's a three team trade and we Asik as well.

More price inflation. Jrue and Tyreke aren't going to look overpaid if this keeps up.

If Bradley is getting paid 8mil, I don't feel bad at all about Holiday and Evans making 10-11.

ETA: I see that Bradley actually learned how to shoot, this may not be as bad as I originally thought.

We already have Asik for a 1st independent of the third hypothetical team.

But it doesn't go through until July 15th, so more pieces can be added.

Not really.
the point of the trade was to free up cap room for Asik and to sign a decent SF.

SO it was really a EG/Ryno for Ilyasova/Mayo/Middleton/CJ Miles
I wouldn't mind that.
Ilyasova is a decent 3 point shooter. Mayo is no worse than Gordon. CJ Miles is better than anything else we have at the 3, not that he's really a 3. All three guys are around 38% 3point shooters.

You guys have this mindset that since day 1 he's an arse, he's half assing, he doesn't want to be here, etc.

He's an introvert so that's why his personality is of an 'a-hole', he produced decent #s last year (obviously not the same as his pay grade), and now you want to take on contracts that handcuff us for more than what EG would do for 2 years, that is idiotic.

For all we know, EG might opt out of next year's contract

Stretching him isn't going to save money or cap room. It just stretches it to 5 years, burdening the team longer.

and cap room

Again, not true. Instead of 2 years, cap is eaten for 5, just at a lower level. However, that money is truly dead.

Gordon was actually solid last year. He's a lot better than the non-existent player you'll be paying $6M for the next 5 years.

CJ Miles

Far from a guarantee that we can or would sign Miles.

Actually, he is.

See above.

not that he's really a 3

You might as well just run out Evans at the 3

It would be okay, I don't know how I'd feel about it, so I guess that means it's a fair trade. I think Ilyasova would start over Miles at the 3. A bench of Mayo, Miles, Middleton, then basically nothing at PF and C would worry me. (Ajinca, Withey, and Young).

Totally. RT @Aykis16: I think teams realize cap will jump a lot next few years after TV deal is renegotiated

Convenient

Part of the reason I don't post on here as often as I used to. Tired of arguing with the Danman's of the board about this. He's worth about half his pay, bitch about that but not everyone's going to be a Ryan Anderson or Drew Brees where they are always posting on Twitter how much they love the city, community, etc. Those guys are great & you want as many of those as you can get but constantly calling the dude Sandy Vag is pretty comical.

Of course it can, but that doesn't make those a good addition.

Ziller did call what we're seeing crazy though.

Last year's FA market was pretty sane with few crazy deals. This year is looking like the return of #ThisIsWhyWeCantHaveNiceThings.

Same here. That offer wouldn't blow me away, but I wouldn't complain much about it.

He's listed as a 3/4. I believe he can play either. He's as much as a small forward as Miles is.

Sounds like the state budget. Assume massive, inflated income increases to spend more than you have.
