Doesn't mean they can't handle the ball.

I'm not sure what some of you were expecting from Gentry, or what you thought you saw this past year, but our offense wasn't about ball movement. The only team in the NBA last year that had more ISO plays than us was the Knicks, and Tyreke sat out basically the whole year.

We didn't have the guys to do it last year and it showed...plus our offense is predicated on our defense...

It shouldn't be that hard to get an NBA team to learn how to run a basic offensive scheme, unless your a shitty coach.

So if you did something your whole career and then all of a sudden you're told to do it completely different you would just easily do it even though your mind and body are trained one way?

Completely different? It's called running an actual offense and not just playing street ball isolation.
It's not that difficult to get, unless you simply don't give a shite and don't care to listen to or do whatever the coach says. Or you have a shitty coach.

Crewz, what are the odds that Miami takes a flyer on Tyreke? Would think that taking him for a year to have cap space next summer would be better than trying to match the Brooklyn offer for Tyler Johnson right?
Posted on 7/6/16 at 9:27 pm to BallHawk
Matching Tyler Johnson only takes up $5M in space for Miami next summer.

This team will suck so bad next year unless Hield is like Lillard.
Posted on 7/6/16 at 9:52 pm to 504ByrdGang
They'll be a lot better defensively, which is honestly good enough to get into the playoffs.
Posted on 7/6/16 at 9:55 pm to 504ByrdGang
This team will be better. But more importantly it will be set up to be better long term.

No doubt but they are going to have big trouble scoring. They must really think Gentry can coach the shite out this team. But I see us caped out at 8th-7th seed. Look at the problems the Hawks and the Celtics kept having in the playoff when the lack of talent could be overcommed. Also Jrue has to stay healthy they must have tons of faith in him. Quincy may also really be out 3rd best player assuming Tyreke is out.

I believe he is an Arenas rule player. His salaries for heat on the 4 years would be something like $5M, $5M, $20M, $20M for cap purposes. For the Nets it would essentially be $12.5 x4 for cap purposes.

Ah, I had it backwards. Nonetheless, I would think it would make more economical sense, long term, for the Heat to take on Evans now have more flexibility next off-season.
Posted on 7/6/16 at 10:12 pm to BallHawk
Yeah if I was them I would take an Evans-esque player and go for a big name next year.

Over on PR, Fisher seems to think that if we were somehow able to trade Reke to Miami with no salary coming back it would take more than just trading him to get Sullinger...mentions trading Ajinca
Would you want to move Ajinca to say, Brooklyn who needs a back up 5...we could probably sign Jordan Hill after to a vet min deal

You can't just keep adding guys who need significant minutes. This team is getting pretty deep and is adding a certain caliber of guys- hungry, hard working guys who play defense and will be happy with whatever they get with regard to offensive touches
You need to do the same thing in the front court if you shed Tyreke. Get a guy like Willie Reed, not a guy like Sullinger
