Vlado Jankovic in the Summer League with the Pelicans
EuroHoops
"Vladimiros Jankovic will travel in the States and play in the upcoming NBA summer league with the team of the New Orleans Pelicans.
The 26 years old forward who finished the season in Panathinaikos and has an offer from AEK will worki out with the Pelicans and probably be part of their summer league roster.
It remains to be seen how things will play out for him, since it’s highly unusual for a European player with a solid performance in Euroleague for a number of year to play in the NBA summer league."

Jester was spot on wondering if all the money might mean shaking some decent Euros loose. I have no idea how good these 2 are but with the prices we've seen on NBA players we can probably get a better value on Euros.

Someone mentioned the Cavs having a trade exception, didn't they use that on Channing Frye? If not, they just lost Mozgov and supposedly were interested in Asik at the deadline. I've only seen Bourisis' top 5 plays but I'd dump Asik and roll the dice on Euro big for $6-$8.

Just checking in. Wow. Maybe that Asik deal isn't so bad afterall...

I BELIEVE: They signed Frye into the old Haywood exception, but in trading Varejao created a new $9.7MM exception.

2 down, 3 to go
Are you telling me you think Asik is better than Noah and Mozgov straight up?
It doesn't matter what other idiot organizations are paying these guys. asik isn't even a top 30 center in this league. He provides little to nothing on the court. Paying him anything at this point is too much.
It's like some of you forgot how terrible of a basketball player he is B/c you haven't seen him play in a while.

Asik and Mozgov are pretty close. I'm actually shocked that you think Mozgov is so much better than Asik... Both are pretty mediocre

You are correct.
ETA: unfortunately Asik's contract is for 9.9, even if the Cavs were interested

We need Parsons to sign with Portland.
Makes Crabbe and/or Harkless ripe for the taking.

So who are the targets you would like to see at this point? Evan Turner? Jeremy Lin? Marvin Williams? Trade Reke?
With Parsons, Barnes, Bazemore and Batum all likely off the table.

Turner, Crabbe and Marvin Williams are my tops.
Solomon Hill as a fallback.
Some cheap young guys like Andrew Nicholson on the bench.

I really like Courtney Lee, if they can get him on a decent deal. I'm not seeing a whole lot of interest around the league in him. The Knicks were first mentioned but they've turned their sites on Gordon.
I also like Solomon Hill as a guy who could take Ryno's minutes. He could also split some time with Qpon at SF (if that's the route they are going).
I wouldn't mind Lin, but I think he'll probably be too expensive. E'twaun Moore would be a good pick up to play backup PG, though.
I hope they trade Tyreke.

mozgov is mediocre. And that is a terrible contract.
But Mozgov can catch. He can also dunk. He also hustles when he plays. asik does none of these.

I think Asik hustles. He is just so slow it appears he is taking the play off.
