The TC-Okafor trade should have been enough to fire Bower on the spot when it happened.

the reason we made that trade was b/c shinn is cheap and he commanded it. it saved him like $7M or so

shinn wanted the short-term relief and said frick the long term implications

Broussard is busy calling LeBron to see what he should say.

I want to see if he says anything, I seriously doubt he will, they'll just let him shirk off. He would either have to call Paul a straight up liar, or eat crow. Don't see either happening, unfortunately. I'm a try and harass him on twitter.

That's way more positive than I expected out of Paul. I know it's generic but for some reason I was expecting more generic.

if we do this, we can't expect much back in terms of players and we may have to assume a bad (not as bad as emeka's) contract

Then Okafor is still going to be handcuffing the Hornets anyway. You'd have to add an elite SF and very good all around player at PF (or vice versa) to really compete with Okafor at C.

At least Lebron never really committed to Cleveland. If CP3 is spouting shite, we deal Collison and CP jets, that's going to be epic.

I'm worried we're going to further handicap our franchise by building around a guy that really doesn't want to be here.

If that's the case, though, then so be it. If he really wants to be here, then that's awesome news.

I think the new management helps ensure that doesn't happen. Regardless of the truthfulness of today's comments, neither new guy has any attachment to Paul. They both seem like overly intelligent people, I think they'll make the right move if the writing is on the wall.

I do not want to trade Collison now at all. I was all for it before this, but I don't see how anyone could think CP3 is not on his way out.

We will not get much better without trading one of the PG. Trading CP3 and keeping Collison is a much better option than keeping both or losing both.

I wish we would have completely tanked last season so we could have drafted Cousins.

The Hornets, meanwhile, have been looking at Orlando, Charlotte and New Jersey as potentially attractive trade partners once the firestorm settles down, according to one of the people with direct knowledge of the Hornets' strategy. Two other sources familiar with the situation confirmed prior discussions involving the Bobcats and Nets and said those talks are expected to advance in the coming days.

Interesting. Would Gerald Henderson be the centerpiece of the Charlotte deal?
