The dude is crazy. I think he's single because he said he doesn't have enough time to be a head NBA coach and sustain a relationship. I like the dedication.

If you guarantee he doesn't run our already fragile players into the ground I'm completely sold.

Groupthink is dangerous. No one would accuse Monty of running our players into the ground causing all the injuries. Ditto with McHale in Houston and their injuries or Carlisle in Dallas.

It seems this whole "Thibs gets people hurt" thing is so overblown at this point. Also, if you wanted a successful coach like Thibs run out of town and you are the Chi front office, there is going to have to be some overwhelming negative narrative made up other than, "I don't like Tom."

I've been on the Thibs train since he was first mentioned as a possibility.

It's all about giving him players he isn't afraid to play. AD/Asik/Jrue/Cole/QPon/Cunnigham is a good start. Trade Ryno for Deng and add an athletic defensive big to give AD some rest and I don't think you'd have to worry about too many minutes.

I also am curious if Thibs can get Asik back to what he did in Chicago. Asik's 1st 2 years his DRtg was 97 and 92 vs 100.3 and 98.3 for the team. 10-15 minutes a game of a defense built around Asik might be enough to get AD the rest he needs. It wouldn't be pretty, but you can save the pretty for when AD's back in the game.

Well-said, and it's an uphill battle for the Chicago front office, which is earning quite the reputation for cutting off their nose to spite their face.

I shortened it up for the sake of saving time but here is something at least.
