Of the most mocked choices at 13, who do you like the best? Bey, Nesmith, Williams

I'm just basing this on the names I have personally seen the most, I'm not doing some scientific analysis taking every mock draft on the internet.

Saddiq Bey
Aaron Nesmith
Patrick Williams

Obviously this is totally subjective and there are others that have been mocked to us (like this board's favorite Kira Lewis), but those 3 seem to be the most mocked or thought of as possibilities at our pick.

What are your thoughts on these 3 players, and who do you like the best for us? Why?

I would say Nesmith personally. I know he's a great shooter and the way SVG gives Zion the opportunity down low while providing shooters on the perimeter, I think it'll be best to draft some shooters.

I like Bey the most although I don’t think he has the highest ceiling, but the highest floor.
The Nova guys have been performing well at the next level.

I like Nesmith’s shooting. Working with JJ and SVG could be really good for his development.

Depends on whether we keep or trade Jrue.

Jrue trade, give me Nesmith. Keep Jrue, give me Jaylen Smith who I've seen mocked quite a few times to us.

We need another lockdown perimeter defender. It's pretty evident Ingram is never going to be particularly good on that end

William's jumper is very slow and ugly at times, but that's what Fred Vinson is for I guess

Which is why we need to trade Jrue or Ball and move Ingram to the 2, where hisnsize would be an advantage. Then sign/trade for a big 3 like a Covington, Crowder that can guard the Tatum's and Lebrons.

Long term, Williams probably makes the most sense

But Williams + Zion at 3 and 4 is pretty scary shooting wise initially

Anyway, we shouldn't be looking at a 19 year rookie picked at 13 to solve any problems right away

May as well take a flyer on Poku and see if he can become a Unicorn

I would probably go with Bey. I like Nesmith but I would like someone with a little more off the dribble ability.

I see the intrigue in Williams, but I don't think he ever develops into much of anything.

I wouldn't mind Bey or Nesmith with that pick. Also might be a few guys that fall to us if we are lucky. I agree with Soggy that we might have 2 different lists of prospects depending on if we make any trades. Wouldn't be surprised if we end up with 2 picks in the top 30. I can see a C/ SF with the first pick and a Tre Jones type pick in the late 20s.

I wonder if we could shake Covington loose with some of our asset capital and all the movement in their front office

Depends. I'm waiting to see who they hire. If they go cheap on a coaching hire after going cheap at GM, they will likely be in cost cutting mode.

I like Bey. He’s a bigger forward that can potentially play small ball 4 or 5 at 6’8. Also, he plays solid defense and can shoot the 3 effectively. He’s a perfect guy to come off the bench for us.

1. Bey. Well coached at Nova. Can D and three.

2. Neismith - shooting

Don't really care too much about Williams.

Note - Would also love to have Kira Lewis.

If the start date is as early as December, then I’m more inclined to go for ceiling with Patrick Williams.

Mocks are all over the place. I just looked at one written on 10/24 (LINK ). Its actually the Sporting News and not some crazy site. They have us taking the Poku guy and Smith going in the 2nd..

Did something happen to him?

Yeah, I've been seeing alot of sites where everyone is all over.

I've seen some with Bey going top 15, others have him in the 2nd.

I think its alot to do with not having a tournament, along with limited visits and all

Yeah the mocks are all over the place. We should know more in the next few weeks though.
I’d rather trade or get a FA for that big 3 and D guy, and draft one of the PGs at 13.

I saw a report about Gallinari saying he’s looking for the full MLE, so basically a 4/$40M.

He was on NBA radio recently talking about his next step, and he said he's looking more for a championship contender than anything. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up on the Warriors or back to the Clippers.

That's a steal for Gallo, but I think he'll sign with a contender for a lot less than his true value
