Not sure the Pels are starting their best lineup.

I think we can all agree that Zion, BI, Herb, and CJ are starters.

However JV is very slow and a liabilty against pick and roll and a good shooting center.

Hayes however if healthy and back to 2021 form can guard the pick and roll and also is more active on the defensive side.

Positive for JV going to the bench is getting that veteran to lead the second team. Graham can feed him while he dominates the other teams second tier front court.

So you're suggesting to play Hayes as a starter? ?? Have you seen Hayes play recently? No sir.

Is it not understood JV is starter talent but is going to beat up on bench units? It’s the story of his career.

BUT when your prime guys go down, you can run an offense through him.

This will always be the strategy with him.

We don't want that.

By more active you mean running around trying to find his assignment, which is what his 2021 form was.

As much as Pelicans fans want to blame the refs the pick and roll and three point shooting killed the Pelicans more.

I mean I agree I don't think JV is our longterm answer at Center because he's just not a rim protector and lacks the athleticism to play good D in the playoffs but starting Hayes over him is a terrible idea

I think the best starting lineup would be Kira, Herb, BXI, Z and Jax. This lineup will be fast and maximize Z skills. Plus this lineup will be far superior on the defensive side.

CJ is the perfect sixth man. Because the Pels have invested so much in CJ, it will never happen.

And you think Hayes fixes that?

This has to be a troll.

Oh no

Did you not watch last night's game or the game before? We have 2 dudes who can play center 10x better than Hayes.

We lost one game. By one point. Without getting any calls when attacking the rim.

JV was a huge part of both of our wins, especially over Charlotte.

I refuse to believe anyone who has watched the Pelicans play the last two years can want to start Hayes over JV. I just categorically deny that anyone can have that thought

I’m sorry did you miss that 30 & 17 game that he basically beat Charlotte with by himself or were you jacking off? We have one of the best bully ball centers in the league that is a walking double-double who also shoots 80% from the FT line and can knock down the occasional 3 and you want to replace him with Hayes because why? Because he jumps higher? Yeah let’s get right on that…….. The entire reason we have Larry Nance is to be the opposite of JV. Hayes is now at the end of the bench and if we can’t trade him this year will most assuredly be gone after the season.
