It wasn’t a good trade. He’s a good dude, and he’s found a place on this team, but we gave up too much. That contract becomes more palatable in the future, if I’m not mistaken.

Edit: and in Griff’s defense, he wanted to get a big body to help Zion and no one knew Jax was gonna make the jump he’s made.

This team is significantly tougher this year due in large part to Adams. Stats do not show his value.

That is a great clip. It may be the funniest thing: from no one wanting the jump, to Smart being so "not smart."

I also don't think you could have just any vet fill that role. Look at how little impact Favors seemed to have. I don't think Horford would be much different because you don't need a steady vet, you need a vocal leader. I wonder how many times Adams has said "Don't be a pussy, mate." Not everyone can call people out like that. JJ telling Zion not to "frick this up for him." A quiet, hard working vet probably isn't going to have any more impact than the coaches unless he's taking minutes from a young player.

This board seems to habitually confuse market and personal value.

Adams market value is negative. No one is giving up positive value to take his contract.

You have a right to think his personal value to this team is positive, and I’d agree with you, but we don’t have unlimited resources, Adams being a negative asset harms our overall flexibility and capacity, even if he is providing positive value to the team vs not being here.

The good news is if we are gonna make a move, it will probably be next summer, and he will be an expiring.

Right, Inner dynamics of a team that we, as fans, don't see or hear. Adams is a tough, big body who, by all accounts, is a great teamMate and does all the dirty work ..... clears a lane for Zion, sets picks for BI, and provides a paint presence for the team. He also has a nice little touch and I'd like to see him shoot more.

Folks forget the layup lines teams were running on us last year. Also, Hayes is picking up the nuance of the Center position from Adams learning leverage and positioning. A great investment for a young developing team.

I mean we just got done talking about our team trajectory in a thread where a credible insider said we are going to be in the Beal sweepstakes this offseason, so I wouldn’t be so sure of that.

And Adams and Bled probably mean we will be attaching assets to move one or the other.

Those Iwundu minutes were rough. It looked like he had never played bball in his entire life lol. I don’t think we will see him out there again unless it’s a blowout tbh.

Where’s Hart in the second pic? I just see 4 Pelicans on the floor.
