Didn't ever see that coming. This is only time I heard Boston and Kemba in the same sentence.

I sense a lot of salt from your post since you weren't able to report this WOJ NUKE

Rosas has been trying to find a taker for him since he became GM earlier this year.
I applaud his efforts but it isn’t happening without a significant sweetener being attached.

quote:Yeah, I think Kemba to Boston started getting traction a few days ago. Shortly after they realized that they'd have max cap space because Horford and Kyrie were leaving. There was a short (like maybe one day) rumor about possibly Vuc, but that got shot down pretty quickly and the rumors have basically been Kemba, with a little chatter about possibly Russell.

Could Boston go after Myles Turner now? They could use that Memphis pick and something else to trade for him.

With regards to Kemba, what should Charlotte do if he walks?
Based on their current roster and salaries, I would say “trade off good expiring players and tank one season.”
They only have two non-rookie contracts after this coming season, Batum and Zeller, so they would be coming up on the potential for a total retool of their roster.

All-Star Kemba Walker and the Charlotte Hornets have sizable gaps and stalemate in talks so far, opening pathway for competitors in Boston, New York and Dallas, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.
i guess CHA isnt interested in walker on a max or supermax. they may finally be ready to pull the cord

I’m not sure if Turner is available.
Capela is available and Boston has been in talks with Houston for him.

this is interesting. win projections based on PIPM of players currently under contract (no rookies, FA's)

With Kemba leaving in FA, that team is about to have a fire sale.
Ill take Marvin Williams for sure!

Which is fine, but makes no sense to not trade him at last years deadline.

quote:Their team is awful, and they don't really have a ton of space to take on bad contracts for assets. Something that I think would make sense for both teams would be a swap of Marvin Williams for E'Twaun Moore (I think MM may have suggested this previously). It would open another 6.5 mil in cap space for them to be able to take on more bad contracts and get assets for them. Maybe they can trade for James Johnson from Miami, as I'm sure they want/need to get under the tax and would probably include an asset in that trade. Tanking is really their only option at this point.

As far as future outlook goes, Charlotte has to be near the bottom of the league. That roster is a disaster with very limited upside. They've got some work to do.

Yeah, they probably need to become a dumping ground for bad contracts and accumulate assets for being that. Start building around Monk, Bridges and Washington.

Bismack and a first would be my preference in a Moore trade
