Except for a few hours ago he implied the Lakers were the clear front-runners.

...I'm guessing based off the forcefully deleted tweets and this response this is him trying to hedge his bet.

You say that, and it should be obvious, but I seriously doubt AD considered that. So I’d say that it’s a positive

AD also appears to be retarded.

How many people who watched the Lakers this past year are just running to sign there?

We should try and trade for Iggy. Give them Moore and all our unguaranteed contracts.

We would have to guarantee them in order to have enough salary to send out.

Teke could we not use the 4 mil trade exemption from last year and do something like send someone like Wood out so memphis can cut him and whoever else is non guaranteed.

What am I missing here with the non guaranteed contracts? I know the guaranteed portion is what counts for outgoing salary under the current CBA.

Trade exemptions can't be bundled. They have to be big enough to take back the salary you're receiving.

I’m just grateful that us plebs have guys like you (ATL), Bunch and Teke to explain the complicated, and at times convoluted nuances of the NBA CBA.

I sure as hell don’t have the time to put in to learning it.

Seriously though, thanks guys. That goes for everyone who brings solid information to the board.

The deal with the non-guaranteed contracts is salary matching.

We are sending out $8m in Moore plus other contracts to get a $17m contract in Iggy.

Depending on how much cap room we have and when the transactions take place, it affects our ability to absorb that extra $9m in salary. Hence why we could guarantee about $5m in salary for those cheap players and send them out, which is relatively close to Iggy’s $17m minus 10%.

Edit - my numbers are wrong, yours in the next post are right

So this is why im confused, thank you for explaining

"In a simultaneous trade, different rules applies to taxpaying and non-taxpaying clubs. A non-taxpaying team can trade one or more players and take back….
175% of the outgoing salary (plus $100K), for any amount up to $6,533,333.
The outgoing salary plus $5MM, for any amount between $6,533,333 and $19,600,000.
125% of the outgoing salary (plus $100K), for any amount above $19,600,000."

I see it as iggy is 17, so all we have to do is send out 12 mil and we could trade for him. Moore is 8.6 so that's less than 4 mil we would have to add

the problem with a moore + scrubs for iggy trade is more about value than math. they will get far better offers for him than that, including draft picks

for example, DAL could take his entire 17MM, right now, and just send back picks. why would MEM want moore anyway? yes he's expiring, so is iguodala...they could just buy him out or even keep him

moore just takes up a roster spot they'd want for someone that might have a future with them.

remember, they owe BOS a 1st rnd pick

Correct. It looks like we might need to send them 3 of our minimum level guys to get over the hump though. Even sending them Moore plus Okafor and Wood, our 2 highest paid minimum level guys is about $100k short.

ya we would basically lose our end of the bench guys. I would try and send them Williams/Bertrans before okafor.

And yes cgrand you are correct, other teams have more to offer but wanted to see if the numbers would work. Our proposal would be that our scrubs could cut most of the salary for nothing and end up with only moore, as it could save them cash instead of buying out iggy.
