I couldn’t figure out how to make the Iggy trade work the way Crewz proposed on Twitter either. We always come back 100k short with any 2 of Woods, Williams, or Okafor.
Now if we want some wing help and a vet presence, we could do Moore for Jae Crowder. Downgrade in shooting some, but fits our roster better and has some familiarity with Favors.
With regards to Crowder- the trade Moore crowd should also keep in mind that, after Jrue, Frank Jackson becomes the guy with the second most experience in Gentry’s system. We are set up for a slow start next year

You guarantee Bertans, Wood, AND Williams and then offer Moore and a 2nd
You can have up to 20 guaranteed contracts heading into camp. Number has to be 15 (or less) by opening night.
They get some value and a young player and some cash relief by not having to pay for the buyout. They can either flip Moore or hold on to him as a bench player.
We get the vet presence (who knows system) that’s already been discussed. Seems like a no brainer win-win to me. Can fill out the rest of our roster with vet mins

I should clarify. My reference to trading Moore and losing another person who knows the system was in regards to Crowder, not Iggy. I agree, Iggy is absolutely worth those three guys plus some
I think someone will offer more than 3 fill-ins and a couple seconds. I think we value Bertans, Wood, and Williams more than other teams.
Then again, maybe Memphis see value in those three. Or maybe Iggy has a shortlist of where he’ll want to play and that’s the best offer they can get. Hopefully one of those scenarios happens. I’ll choose to be cautiously optimistic about it

Who?
As far as I have seen teams interested are Clips, Raps, Lakers, Mavs, and Rockets
What do they have? I’d imagine three of those hinge on Kawhi
Throw them another 2nd or 2

I think the main thing is that that they get Moore and Williams (who fits their MO) and some picks AND save on a buyout

Moore’s salary declines $200k this year. The ESPN trade machine is still showing last year’s salary, I wonder if that is the source of confusion.

TradeNBA is so much better

I can see them sending Future 1sts. Specifically LAC. The Clips got some of their own plus couple of Miami’s and a future PHI 1st.
Maybe they are the only true bidder we need to worry about? If they miss on Kawhi, we might be the next most logical spot for Iggy

He was using 11.5 as the send back number instead of 12.2. It could also just be a simple math issue

Clips also already have Gallinari and Harkless so if they miss on Kawhi then I don’t see them going after Iggy
I also think they’ll pursue a S&T for Kawhi (sending out Gallo and a couple of those firsts)

If what the talking heads (I can't remember if it was on ESPN or FS1 or both) were accurate this morning with what Magic told him, it didn't even sound like he made it that compelling. Something like: yeah, we were dysfunctional, but we're a family, all families have rough patches, blah, blah, blah. Didn't seem like something really designed to put doubts at rest.

I’m saying that if they get Kawhi, I could see them pursuing, and being motivated, to land Iggy
Wait, why would they send out multiple 1sts? To offload Gallo? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just not following

Maybe not a couple but I could see the clips sending one for bird rights and to offload Gallinari who becomes redundant with Kawhi esp at his salary. Also allows raps to get something.

Clips still have like 40 mil in cap space so even if they do sign Kawhi it doesn’t make sense to me to offload Gallo. He’s still a good player and the FA market is dried up at this point.

Stein update re: Kawhi
Nothing really new

What we know: 1. The Lakers, as we've been saying for more than a week now, believe they are firmly in the lead largely through the recruiting efforts and assurances made on separate fronts from Magic Johnson and LeBron James

2. Officials from both the Lakers and Clippers appear to determined to say as little as possible -- less than ever for a free agent of this prominence as
@ryenarussillo
likes to say -- to avoid upsetting Kawhi's camp when they have insisted on total silence

This was what a Raptors poster posted on real gm

I now have two different sources telling me the exact same thing. One from the OVO Camp and one from the best friend of an NBA Player. Mods please reach out to me for specific names, times and places where these conversations happened. Right before the playoffs started, Kawhi met with the Toronto Mgmt and they essentially agreed on him returning for a 1+1 IF they made the finals. Kawhi was really attracted to the idea that this team could secure homecourt and rest him 20-30 games or whatever.
However, Kawhi told the team that if they don't make it to the finals he's gone (Specifically to the Clippers). Good news right? Well, here what’s changed. LeBron is offering him the keys to the Lakers franchise. LeBron is essentially telling Kawhi he's retiring after his contract is up and he'll be the new face of the franchise. Lakers mgmt is also going to let him hire his own medical staff and bring all his pals on board. The Lakers were never on Kawhis radar. It was always going to come down to the Clippers or Raptors.
However, with LeBron essentially giving him the "keys to the city" there’s a new real sense of interest and a real threat for him to join the Lakers. He feels like he can join a superteam because he's already won rings without one. Kawhis already met with the Clippers (late last night) and was also impressed with them. Kawhi is meeting with Masai either tonight or tomorrow morning. He's flying in from LA. And you better believe both the Clippers and the Lakers are flying out their people to chase him too. On the plus side for the Raptors. Drake has been with Kawhi for the last few days. Theres been a lot of talk of having NB as an offical endorser of this years OVO Fest but Drake is having trouble working with Nike.

I think that got used up in the harkless trade. I think they only have like 33 or so.

Yes, he’s a good player but I’m thinking of fit. Kawhi plays the 3 and so does Gallinari and they also have Harkless. Also with their rumored interest in Iggy it makes sense to move Iggy and play Kawhi as a small ball 4 with Harrell at the 5. Have Lou and SGA at the 1-2 spots
