It's a feel thing, for sure. I have two pairs of basketball shorts with pockets and one pair without, the ones with pockets are my preference, for sure. The pockets give no disadvantage basketball-wise, so why not?

Gotcha. Just brings back memories of pickup games with dudes keeping their wallet and keys in their short pockets trying to break ankles. THAT SOUND!!!!
