Firing Monty was the right move
I find it interesting that Vinson went to Detroit even knowing Monty would be fired.

I remember Stephen A saying Monty shouldn’t have been fired because he had just guided the team to the playoffs but he wasn’t pushing the race button on it. Stephen A does say some dumb race baiting stuff but this wasn’t one of them. Many people questioned why Monty was fired at the time- he had just got us into the playoffs.

Monty being Willie’s assistant would be quite the turn of events. I wouldn’t be mad at it though, I still have love for Monty. I just don’t see why Monty would feel the need to work.

This organization I swear. So the big assistant hire will be the guy the worst team in the league fired as a head coach? I hope Lakers hire Monty so we don’t have to.
I like Monty but I don’t think he would help us offensively.

Given the Lakers’ ownership, this sounds like something they would do.
They would lowball Monty to save money because the Pistons are still paying out the arse for him. And Monty would take it because his career is pretty much kaput after Detroit.
