+1
I think it would be well received and I think people who didn't understand would think it was bad arse after the explanation.

Know why? Because you are from Louisiana and you are proud. That's why I fricking love this state so much. Doesn't give a frick. Our state motto should be "look at all the fricks we give"

About published for opposition: This means that the trademark office did their home work and is letting people who might think the trademark impinges upon their own have time to file a protest before the thing is registered, becoming `extra protected'.
About Brass: This is registered to a former owner of the team. There was a minor change to the use of it. This is likely squatting on the name. There are other examples.
About Trademarks: In an article from 12/9, some of this and more was addressed. LINK The short of it is that you don't actually have to file for the trademark to have trademark protection. The Thunder's brand wasn't approved by the time they announced everything and some Nets stuff wasn't even FILED when they revealed it, started using it. Using it in commerce in a legal way confers the protection. Registering gives extra protection.
This could be a red herring, in which case it's useless, or it's Pelicans, which we thought we already knew. At least that's my take.

I would like rougarou or Loup Garou. Yes.
I will also like Pelicans.

Yeah, me too. As long as it says New Orleans on the front, I will live with whatever we are named.

Is Mosquitos some jackass idea of a joke? I'm in the Rougarou camp

Mosquitos is legit. All the dancers will have really small boobs.
It's all marketing!

They filed for Bison and Barons and more when they filed for Thunder. They also made D-League filings. It's typical to file for a few things, perhaps legit, perhaps not.

It already has been well-recieved. Outside of you and Fun Bunch, the whole board seems to like it.
As a descendent of cajuns, I like that it represents our lore.

I wonder how true the reception is though. Rougarou has been brought up before but wasn't even considered by anyone. Is this true Rougarou love or cold feet over Pelicans? It does have the "we get it outsiders don't" factor that New Orleanians seem to revel in though.

If you think the rest of the country laughed at Pelicans, wait til they get a look at this fricking list.

So many people think that everything Cajun is stupid. I fricking love Cajuns. I love all the Cajun stories, Cajun food, and Cajun curse words I learned as a kid. If you don't like it, go frick yourself. I honestly couldn't care less what some tool bag from New England thinks of my culture.

I came up with Bull Sharks, NOBS baby.
Rougarou is slightly heads and shoulders above anything after Pelicans IMO. I'd do Rougarou before Krewe de Poo.

The cajun part of my family that traces back to Acadia is from the New Orleans area.
