If they move I hope a voodoo bitch puts a curse on them for the next 100 years

quote:Memphis Grizzlies: Memphis is literally the eastern-most city that currently hosts a Western Conference team. If the conference titles are taken literally, the Grizzlies should be the team that makes the move.
Looking at a map, N.O. is slightly more east than Memphis.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Minneapolis is somewhat isolated in the Midwest. It is only within 700 miles of four other NBA cities: Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee. All four of those teams are in the East. That has always burdened the Timberwolves with grueling travel schedules. Putting them in a different conference would alleviate those concerns.
New Orleans Pelicans: While it is technically further west than Memphis, New Orleans is actually farther away from most Western Conference markets than Memphis because of how far south it is. That includes all four California teams, Portland, Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and our two hypothetical markets of Las Vegas and Seattle. CBS sports

It depends on how you define it.
There are parts of Memphis further West than parts of New Orleans.
Its pretty close and likely won't be what determines it.
It'll be about revenue, and which owner has the most pull.
One thing that could be a factor is the Minnesota sale. What if a big gun comes in with a bigger offer but its contingent on if there is expansion, they get to move East?

I would add Vegas and Seattle to the West.
Move Pels and Memphis to the East
Move Milwaukee to the West
So you'd have
WEST:
LAL LAC GS SAC
PHX DEN UTA LV
SEA POR MIN MIL
HOU SA DAL OKC
EAST:
CHI IND CHA MEM
TOR DET WAS CLE
NYK BRK BOS PHI
NO ATL MIA ORL

Due to how far south we are, we are in more eastern US viewing markets than Memphis. I feel like that’s a more important reason for the nba

New Orleans was also in the Eastern conference for a couple season when the Hornets first moved here so they may just put us back in.

Whatever makes them go bankrupt I’m all for it.

Memphis will not have a team. 2025 is their last year. Look for them to move back to Vancouver. I'm hearing Louisville might be the landing spot also.

If the grizzlies have to move, I would just assume they stay in Tennessee and just “shift” to absolutely booming Nashville. Nashville is the next Atlanta as far as growth is concerned.
