Replace him with anyone that defends, doesn’t turn the ball over, doesn’t shrink in big moments, and doesn’t hijack key possessions and that would be an improvement.
and the best time to do it passed. before trade deadline and get picks and an expiring or two.

The problem with Lonzo and Ingram is the wide variance in their performances. For Lonzo, his variance is more extreme from game to game. Ingram’s variance seems to show up in big moments because his final counting numbers are relatively consistent from game to game.
This.
We're the most inconsistent team in the league and it's because our guards and to a lesser extent, Ingram, are wildly inconsistent.
Ball is a fricking rollercoaster from one game to the next. He's the opposite of steady.
We need a lead quard you can count on to do the same shite night after night. Solid D, run the team, knock down open 3s.
Ball one night looks like Klay and the next like some dude they pulled out the stands.

Fox is a helluva player and seems to be pretty clutch. My concern with him is defense (I’m not sure how he stacks up) and free throw shooting. But I do think, Fox is arguably an upgrade over Ingram and definitely an upgrade over Lonzo.
I’m okay with giving Ingram until the trade deadline next year, but we also would be prudent to trade him before the book is out on him league wide and it negatively impacts his value.
wonderful confessions.
whats a thunderstick?
iverson made a believer out of me in the big east champ game vs kerrie kittles.
defeated him in the open court before traveling was allowed.
i get the kings on tv.
fox is now terrific.
hes a factor on defense too.
so fast.
i dont know why they make the deal.

I have no idea why this thread is 4 pages long, but i'm not reading whatever nonsense is in here.

I don't mind keeping him but also don't mind if they moved him for the right pieces, but... he isn't a top 20 player and we need to stop pretending he is

I’ve been a periodic Ingram hater but I’ve changed my mind.
I'm not saying he's not good and/or we should definitely trade him because I'm not sure there is a deal out there that makes us better, but I've soured on what peak Ingram is and can bring to this team. I would be on board with at least testing the market.
He's one of the worst defensive players in the league, we do not talk enough about just how bad he is defensively. It's REALLY bad.
Obviously he's good offensively but I do feel like he disappears a good bit, and a lot in times where we need him most.
Last night was the biggest game of the season for us, and he took 11 shots. You simply can't do that, you can't allow a team to take you out or just take yourself out to due to lack of aggression.

Same for me. I would like to see his stats when point Zion is on the floor. He just kinda seems to be standing around and waiting for the play to break down, in hopes he gets the ball in the end to go iso. I don't know if that is accurate or its just what I notice when I see him playing like shite though. Last night we were outcoached and outplayed even when Steph was off the floor. GSW is a team with an identity and players who know their roles. They were constantly moving the ball and players moving off the ball. constantly making cuts toward the baskets at the right time etc. Sometimes you see pelicans players making cuts toward the basket when they absolutely should not be lol. Zion will be working the paint and someone will cut toward the basket and crowd the paint more lol. Just dumb basketball by dumb players

It’s so weird to me. You can see some sparks of defense when he actually tries. He look great in the Minnesota game. Then this game, he is straight garbage. Bledsoe and Ball are worst defenders than Ingram. So I wonder if that has to do anything with his defense. By sagging off his guy because he doesn’t trust his team mates to defend their guy. Who knows? But Ingram is hard working and wants to be great.

He is definitely a top 20 player that is under 25 that’s for sure.

yep. I didn't think they should have gave him the contract...
he's great, but don't like his fit in nola longterm...most guys don't want to be in NOLA, you can tell he is falling into that mix and it's bad for future guys you are trying to bring up.

He just signed a 5 year without a player option in an age where nearly all max players have that.
That's commitment and he routinely spoke about how he felt wanted here compared to LA

Agreed. Funny how people try to argue that Ingram doesn’t want to be here and doesn’t even know facts about it. They just assume things. Anyone would know Ingram wants to be here by his interviews.

Lol..MIP, All Star at 23 year old at a position that is extremely hard to find and not give him a contract? It’s crazy how any other team fans would love to have him and the only ones who don’t are some of you “Pelican fans.”

Only 6 SF (ESPN) who has a better efficiency rating than Ingram.
Leonard
Butler
James
Derozan
Tatum
MPJ
3rd youngest out of the whole group.
Edited: Ingram is older than Tatum whoops
And what's his rating on the defensive end? Dude sulks and forgets he can effect the game playing D when his Offensive game is off.

It’s funny you said that because PER is more than defensive rating.
His defensive rating is 114.9
But you know who else is the same? Zion. Who is worst than him and Zion? Lonzo and Bledsoe.
Also Harden and Beal are 114.6. I guess you’re saying you don’t want them on your team also?
Ingram is the second best offensive player by a wide margin compared to the third player. You guys seem like he can’t improve his defense at only being 23. He showed glimpses of it when he was with the lakers, so I still have faith when we surround him and Zion with better players .
Also the last 35 games we are ranked 15 in DRTG and ranked 6th in the last 17 games. You guys make it seem like we are still garbage on defense while not looking at other teams.

Ingram's defensive numbers:
DRTG 116, DBPM -1.4
Kawhi: DRTG 110, DBPM +0.9
Butler: DRTG 108, DBPM +2.5
LeBron: DRTG 106, DBPM +1.6
DeRozan: DRTG 114, DBPM -0.2
Tatum: DRTG 112, DBPM -0.4
MPJ: DRTG 111, DBPM -1.0
Starting to really feel that although it might be bad, its a little overblown by the surrounding pieces being abysmal too.

Yeah, I also like to add that without Ingram they are 1-4. So much for him effecting games with his miserable defense
