re: Move Ingram.
There are a lot of players better than Ingram. Not everything is about points. There are about 10 other facets to the game. We are coming up on year 6 and Ingram has 1 elite skill, that turns into a below average skill in the last 5 mins of games.

Since implementing Point Zion on 1/26

Zion
28.1 PPG
6.9 RPG
4.3 APG
.627/.333/.701
66.4% TS%

Ingram
24.3 PPG
4.8 RPG
5.0 APG
.468/.382/.886
58.7% TS%

Pelicans are 23-20 when they both play in that span. New Orleans is 24-25 overall.

Wow, breaking news. My point is don't just say "trade him for someone who (insert 10 good qualities)" and leave it at that. Tons of people want to trade Ingram but I've never seen someone offer a legit trade scenario. It's not as easy as you seem to think, most teams aren't out there trying to trade down.

So he's not an alpha but won't accept anything other than being the alpha?

Sweet post.

Only 6 SF (ESPN) who has a better efficiency rating than Ingram.

Leonard
Butler
James
Derozan
Tatum
MPJ

3rd youngest out of the whole group.

Edited: Ingram is older than Tatum whoops

And we replace Ingram with who? How many SFs out there that are available that is better than him?

I’m not saying that Ingram should be traded, but the team makeup would make more sense if Ingram was moved for a lead guard, and the Pels picked up a defensive minded wing to replace him in the lineup (via trade or free agency). They don’t need to replace him with someone better, but maybe some who fits better.

Ideally this team would be Zion + a lead guard + two 3 and D wings + a stretch big that can defend the paint a bit

ETA: this has nothing to do with his play tonight, just in general his skill set and fitting with Zion

re: Move Ingram.
Isn’t it easier to get a lead guard than a SF? The thing that hurts Ingram the most is spacing. Even he said that. Zion can bully guys and get to the rim, Ingram can’t. Once he gets spacing, he will improve even more.

Or or... stay with me here... let’s put better players around Zion and Ingram. We’re forcing young players to lead a basketball team. Let’s put better players around them so it doesn’t feel like if they don’t produce we don’t win. Bro look at Memphis... Ja Morant doesn’t have to dominate for them to win. A lot of nights he doesn’t lead them in points. Yesterday they won by 17 points. He only scored 8 and they only scored 92. They are allowing him to grow as a player. The Clippers are good as hell with PG and Kawhi, they can lead an offense, but they need rondo to help control an offense and take pressure off them. We have a lot of problems with our team... Ingram and Zion aren’t them. They may have their faults but damn let’s put a team worth something around them and then evaluate them.

This isn't New York LA or chicago. He's a top 20 player, and he's very young. It's up to Zion to putting him and his Scotty, D wade, Clyde place.

0 you have to have that guy to win championships. Your alpha has to let him know where he belongs.

We just have some of the dumbest fricking fans. Our team was constructed with no real point guard and we’re forcing two young forwards to be our lead ball handlers and the response on this board is to blame the only good players we have.

re: Move Ingram.
They should retire the word ‘Alpha’ from team sports vernacular. It’s cliche and dumb, something ESPN blurts out to get clicks. Ingram, Zion, and Zo are developing players in an elite league that are learning to mesh their talents with the other ‘12’ on the roster, coaching staff, and organization.

Great game last night where Ingram was off but Zion and Zo picked him up. That’s called team building. No problem being critical of play, but Quit it with the fanboy stuff. Check out the league leaders, all guided by 2-3 veteran all stars in the latter stages of their prime, and we have folks advocating getting rid of ours who haven’t even hit their prime ..... sheesh

Bad analogy. Wouldn’t Robin be considered the beta to batman’s Alpha?

and we have 0 spacing to help them 2

BTW for the ones who are crazy: April numbers
46.2/36.5/91.4
25.6/5.4/5.3, 3.2 TOV, 1.1 block+steal per game

even when he has a 'bad month', that's still a top 10 SF month in the league.

Everyone who can’t stand Ingram can go ahead and start watching another team. He’s not getting moved and he’s not a headache in the least.

Man I hope we get spencer Dinwiddie on this team. He will be a perfect fit. Plays defense, is a leader and vet, has been clutch at times and can sometimes score at will. Plus he won’t cost a ton and is familiar with NAW and Langdon.

With all the problems on this team, Move Ingram is not a priority. How about Move Adams, Move Bledsoe... well mainly their contracts.
