Most embarrassing loss I've seen in a very long time

Playing a bad team at home even with Ja, who hasn't played in 7-8 months, and he DOMINATES you. And it was their 2nd game of a back to back. Bad coaching and it was the worst defense I've ever seen in the 2nd half. Did Memphis even go one possession without scoring in the 4th?
Willie and the team better have a sleepless night because that loss was beyond mother fricking unacceptable. They've earned that.

That kind of loss is nothing new. This team is soft. Anyone remember the Lakers game? We went in with the mentality we were the lesser team against a pathetic team.

Ja has been practicing still, and he’s just really good.
Willie needs to answer some hard questions as to why he did not double him.
The one time we did, he threw it away for a BI steal.

That would be one question I would love to have answered. The last offensive possession really pissed me off. We had one guy carry us the second half and we needed to make sure he got the ball in a position to score. Instead we give him the ball to bring up the court, when anyone who has ever watched basketball knew the Grizzlies would double him and force the ball out of his hands. I’ll guarantee you Taylor Jenkins was thrilled to death when he saw Bi bringing the ball up. No reason not to let CJ, Herb or Zion bring the ball up and run BI off of screens to get him the ball where he can make something happen. When you do exactly what the other team wants, that’s not good. Poor, poor coaching.

Willie blaming this loss on refs in his presser which hes not wrong on certain aspects but its also taking the pressure off him. If refs were that bad, get a tech, get tossed. Do something. Adjust- make them call stuff.
In regards to not doubling Ja on last possession. He said we threw different looks all game, we’re confident in Herb and give credit to Ja. frick that Ja was 1 on 1 the whole fricking game and he was torching Herb.

It’s just crap from Willie. The way the refs called the game certainly didn’t help Herb, but you HAVE to blitz Ja and make someone else have to hit a shot. Just like Memphis doubled BI on our last possession (which again you knew was going to happen) and made him get rid of the ball. I mean the other team just said your best guy won’t beat us and Willie said, “nope I’ll let their best guy go one on one and hope for the best.” It was really poor.

Thats where you’re trusting a player (Herb) more than what the game is telling you. Its like he can’t see through the weeds and just makes decisions based my guy will beat your guy (most games Herb does; but this game he wasn’t). Thats why you have to adjust but Willie never does.

No not at all, this is the worst loss of the season by a mile and it's the difference between maybe being a top 6 team or a play in team.
And yes, that's at best what this team is. At best a play in team. That's their identity.

And as mentioned above, we DID double him in the 4th and he turned it over
He is not going to throw the ball away 1 on 1, so you limit his risk of turning it over by not doubling. At least make him do something else other than what he’s been doing ALL frickING GAME which is getting to the rim
