It was inevitable, simply because changing the coach is a lot simpler than un-fricking this roster.

Remains to be seen who gets hired, but I would think easy money would be Nick Nurse.

Absolutely stupid to fire a coach who’s getting into the playoffs and nba finals just 2 years ago

Monty makes really bad adjustments and got embarrassed in elimination games both seasons.

Losing to Denver shouldn’t necessarily have been a firing offense but doing so a year after shitting the bed against Dallas was not helping him.

I saw him mentioned yesterday as a candidate for the Bucks. I think that makes a lot sense for both sides.

Bud got fired. Nurse “parted ways”. They actually won.

Monty’s relationship with their #1 pick has been bad for a year. Ayton is probably better than what he shows in Phoenix.

Stein says Suns trying to target Lue. Meddling owners at work here.

Well, I doubt they lowball Lue like the Lakers did at least.

Jeannie went fricking cheap and pretty much said he should take less because Gilbert was still paying him from when the Cavs fired him.

As much as I would love that, Monty is not coming here to be under the guy he helped mold. He’s gonna sit a year and then have his pick of the best jobs next year

Bucks going from Bud to Monty would be something.

Mediocre is a bit generous.

The new CBA means that the Bucks are going to have to make some tough decisions soon.

They have little in the way of a bench, Lopez and Middleton can walk this offseason, and Jrue can walk next offseason.

If they run it back, they are going to have the same core plus whoever they can get on minimum deals.

If they don’t run it back, Giannis is more likely to try and force his way out sooner than later.

I didn’t look up the actual podcast for more context, but I saw a tweet from I think NBA central last week saying Jrue feels very strongly that he may retire after this contract. It was supposedly on the Point Forward podcast which is his boys from Philly, Andre Igoudala and Evan Turner. The wheels could definitely fall of the bus in Milwaukee the next 2 years before Gianni’s’ next deal.

If Jrue is going to retire, Milwaukee’s best plan is probably to dump salary this season and tank so they can do a total rebuild within a season.

Downside for them is that we own their pick via swap rights. But given how we finished, they honestly may not be losing that many spots if Zion continues to be Zion.

Monty is a great coach but idk if i want him as an assistant. Seems like it would be doubling down on Willie's strengths and weaknesses when we should get a lead assistant that has strengths where willie is weak

Pels might need to look at some of the big name coaches on the market now

Doc Rivers just got fired. Do not want at all but it’s interesting to see these big name coaches get fired.

Huge movement in the coaching ranks with good teams this season. 76ers could spiral if rumors of Harden leaving come to fruition.

Firing the coach is the easiest way to change the team, so the coaches have the job security of a Central American strongman.

With free agency so screwed up between a lack of available talent and and the new CBA rules, coupled with so many teams being bereft of picks to make trades, I think this crap will accelerate.

That being said, Doc needed to go. Question is whether Philly sells high on Embiid or if they try to figure out a retook.
