Zion Williamson getting in some light jogging / sprints work at practice. Doing more mobility drills.

Next evaluation is expected next Tuesday.

Anyone that's recovered from this, would it be normal to be running sprints before your imaging looks good?

I strained mine last year, and there definitely was no way i would've been able to run before it healed, it hurt to walk.

I’m betting next week he will be cleared to practice, they will go through 1 maybe 2 practices then put him in a game for 25 minutes to see how he does.

This is really good news. The timeline might be accurate for once.

Here's a video clip. Not sure if this is the jogging or the "sprints". If it's supposed to be the sprints, this might be nothing.

Yeah i don't know if i would call that a sprint, but you never know what the trainers would consider it. Seems like he gives a quick “burst” to start before he slows down though.

Yeah, but true sprinting would put a strain on the hamstring that would suggest he's further ahead of schedule than we thought. If what we see in the clip is the sprinting then he's clearly holding back, suggesting he's on schedule rather than ahead of schedule.

Of all the balls being shot on the Nuggets' court, only one actually goes in.

My guess is he'd be back in 1-2 weeks on a heavy minute restriction.

I watched the video before reading this thread and had to chuckle a bit at your initial optimism.

Sprints is definitely not what I would call that.

It doesn’t seem to me based on that that he’s going to play in a week. But who knows

Maybe gets to show up at the all star game, warm up, start and play couple minutes.
Will probably be March before in game condition to play real minutes

Love how 'our stars' would get up for an All star game, but play for their team who pays their wage, is a different story.

No way should Zion be playing in the all-star game. After all the time he has just missed, we can't risk the possibility of him getting injured again. It could derail our whole season.

Muscle injuries are a bitch, because it feels fine at 75%-80%-85% and so on - right up until 94.638% and it tweaks again.

Source: 4 weeks into a groin injury. It's fine - until it's not.

I truly wonder if Z has been able to keep the weight off during this process of not being able to run at all for 4 weeks.

He never really has been able to do so before, so I think it’s a fair question.

Look at the clip posted above. He doesn't look any different than he did prior to the injury.

Guys go harder in practice than at the All Star game. What, Kobe was the last injury over a decade ago that didn't even take him out of the game?

That vid isn’t a great source tbh

He has long sleeves on and he’s 50 feet away from a camera
