Jake Madison @NOLAJake yesterday
Interesting...Spotrac is listing Matt Ryan's "restructured" contract as an Exhibit 9 deal which is a non-guaranteed training camp deal Not sure if this is an assumption on their part or the actual contract. Haven't seen anything else reported on it

He's still Two-way eligible apparently. Our 2 ways are Jemison, Jamal Cain, and some guy named malcolm hill. We should definitely dump Hill and sign Ryan on a 2 way if that's something he is open to.

My guess is Griff is trying to pay Ryan more than a 2 way which is about $500k but not a full deal because taxes.

is Hawkins someone we should be holding on tight to?

Pels will be hunting 3 balls for CJ and TM3. Not a lot of space left for Hawk, Ryan, or Reeves. I'm not sleeping on Hawk though, he's like the Celtic version of T. Rozier, an absolute problem. particularly at an uptempo pace.

Sure, but you're only thinking about this year. If you're building around Williamson, you need to have a constant revolving door of shooters coming in every year.

Guys like CJ and Ingram won't he here for much longer and you'll need to have guys ready to play when that happens. We've gone through so many years of ignoring the value of shooters and we're finally investing in shooting the last couple of years and should continue to moving forward. A lot of these guys won't have consistent roles this year and that's fine.

As far as Hawkins goes, it really depends on what their vision is for him in the next 2-3 years. If they don't have a viable plan to incorporate him into the offense and use his movement shooting to it's potential and they're just going to have him sit in space, then there's really no reason to keep him. But if they have a plan to make his movement shooting a big part of the offense around the core, then they're obviously wouldn't move him yet.

It's really a conundrum, like a lot of Pels players, they've tried to develop, it would have been better to just let them get minutes. Coach Green placed a premium on wins to the detriment of development. It'll be hard for Hawk to find his rhythm in inconsistent spot minutes. However, we saw what he could do when he was made central to the offense. I don't think any of the other shooters, save CJ and TM3, can offer that in terms of volume. To be clear, I wouldn't offload Hawk for an ill-fitting piece just because it's a position of need.

This is a bit dramatic. "We saw him do well when he had everything going for him".

The exact point being made is that this Hawk won't/ can't be "made central to the offense".

He needs to force his way in the offense or show he can be effective with minimum minutes.

I'm more intrigued on how he handles difficult situations and how he expands his game.

So far not well.

Idk about you but if Hawk plays 5min and is 0-3 then I'd rather NOT give him another 10-15min with a shitty attitude and no defense.

When I say central to the offense, I'm thinking in its free-flowing form. In sets, Pels aren't running plays for Hawk, but in a higher-paced offense, if he's moving open you're getting him the ball and not deliberating. This is one of the sore points with BI, Pels often wanted to go and he'd slowly bring the ball up. I think Hawk might look a little different in the offense this year.

Matty Ice waived: Re-signed to new deal!!!!

Bad Management, don't want to compete, will run away every good player like they have done in the past. The reason Josh Hart says "no one is excited about playing in New Orleans.

You resign this guy? Why? Now you come out with an article entitled "Finances could get tricky for New Orleans Pelicans even with Brandon Ingram Trade. SMH. Terrible.
