Rozier? I'm having flashbacks of Demps selling our picks again.
I thought about Robinson but idk. I still hate the idea of trading our picks for vets while we have such a young team.

I"m not saying i'd like to make those trades, just trades i could see as being available. If we get a top 4 pick, i'd want to make the pick, trust your scouting to at a minimum get a quality starter with it.

I don't think Rozier would buy in to that role either, and i'm really not interested in getting more future picks. I'm just saying i could see those two teams picking up the phone and wanting to move up.
IF we were to trade, i'd hope it's for a player, and that player is around 24-25 and fills a need, like the 5, or a true 3.

There’s plenty of 3 level scoring guards at 13. Guys like Cole Anthony, Tyrese Maxey, and Kira Lewis. Pelicans should be sitting pretty at 13 even if it’s not a top 3 pick.

Plenty of value at 13.

i agree.
It's fun to actually look forward to the draft. It's a new feeling i haven't been accustomed to in many years.

If we get #1 my first 5 calls are shoot for the stars, 99.999% all 5 teams say no of course, but hey never know unless you try.

Call 1) Milwaukee for Giannis

Call 2) Phoenix for Booker

Call 3) Utah for Mitchell

Call 4) Washington for Beal

Call 5) Miami for Adebayo

Once I'm told no by all, then I start trying for a more realistic trade:

#1 and Ball to Pacers for Turner, Aaron 2023 1st

#1 and Ball to Phoenix for Ayton and Bridges

#1 and Ball to Knicks for their pick, Payton and 2023 1st plus Dallas 1st

No way in hell we get that but out of those 3 this is the best option

Knicks one isn’t bad though either. I’ve lost interest in turner

Hell, if you want to throw out wild proposals if we get #1, then call Denver about Jokic too.

Yeah, we would likely have to sweeten with an extra pick, but my mindset on that is #1 for ayton, ball for bridges (ball has a little more value imo), and hoping Phoenix has soured on Ayton a little bit with his suspension last season.

As for Turner, watching him this playoff series he is all over the court, rim running and blocking shots (he had 4-5 today). I still want him because I know what im getting, and I would rather get a sure thing that will be with Zion and Ingram for 10 years than taking another crapshoot in this weak draft.

I don't see Phoenix willing to shake things up that much. They are likely still playing basketball if Ayton hadn't been suspended. Ayton made a very good jump from his rookie season showing a lot of improvement on the defensive end and showing signs he's going to be able to step out to the 3 point line. And they finally have pieces that fit well next to Booker in Bridges and Johnson on cheap team controlled contracts whereas they will have to pay up on Lonzo earlier to play a roll that Rubio did just fine. While Lonzo for Bridges may look equal on paper, I don't see Phoenix having an incentive to do it.

Plus, Phoenix is not going to want to push back their timeline exchanging Ayton for a draft pick. They need to win now to try to keep Booker happy.

If we are at 13 or 14, I really see them going for full on potential or international.

Definitely think Poku is more of an option there than people will think.

This would be the only thing holding them back, but IIRC there were rumors earlier in the year of resentment on Booker's part for Ayton and the suspension (why i said hoping they have soured on him a little).

Other than going for one of those 3 trades though, I really don't see anything else that would interest me from a trade standpoint, so I would likely just not overthink and go with Wiseman.

I am guaranteeing that we will pick 13th or 14th.

Odds of that are 94.3%

Yeah Poku really is the perfect pick. He will likely be the highest ceiling guy on the board and he's an obvious stash who you won't have to worry about giving playing time to this season.

What are our likely picks? 1-4 and 12-14? We couldn’t jump to 7 right?

We can only get:

1-4 (5.7% chance)

13 or 14 (94.3% chance)

That's it.

yeah Poku will be in Europe for at least one more year if not two.

They have Didi coming over this year, and I could see them if they went international at 13, using their plethora of 2nds to try and move into the late 1st to get a "solid" guy that is older but has a very particular skill set.
