Actually CP3 leaving helped this franchise a whole lot regarding its prospective future. If CP3 would've stayed, we still would've been just an average team in the NBA competing for a 7 or 8 seed playoff spot.

Now, we can build this team to be a legitimate contender. I certainly would welcome him back and would enjoy having him on the team if he wants to be a Hornet. With him, Davis, Gordon, and the #10 pick and a decent bench, we are instantly a top 4 seeded team.

Joe Horn was a punk arse bitch who cast a shadow our dream season in 2006 by being a douche around the team and in the lockerroom during the end of the regular season and the playoffs.

Sean Payton does NOT dislike players very easily. Then Horn went and signed with the Falcons on purpose, talked shite about the Saints, etc.

Then he finally comes crawling back when he realizes that he can milk some $$$ out of media appearances and the like since Saints fans are so loyal to a fault. Dude was huge douche the way he went out. CP3 was an angel by comparison.

i'm not disagreeing with you about horn. I just think their situations were much different.

Paul could have stayed. He chose to leave. so be it. but i don't want him back to be the leader of the team that he left. especially while we know we would be listening to the bullshite cliches like my heart never left.

Paul made that choice...Horn was at the end of his career. was on his way out. and was not nearly the caliber of player that paul is

I don't want CP3 back. He left the saints Hornets (oops) for a prettier gal and now might want back! Screw that. You can say it is all business, well my business says toss me aside then I am just looking for the chance to toss you aside. Its a game and that is how I play it. Just me.

Word?

But as far as CP3, Id rather Lillard going forward. He reminds me of a combination of Rose/CP3. Lillard is going to be a star in this league so why bring in the aging drama queen.

also, I hate how dramatic Chris Paul is on the court, hes always crying to the officials.

you like the direction we are headed? you would take Jack and an unproven rookie PG or some lower tier PG over one of the best playing right now

If you're trying to build a sustained winner, Lillard makes more sense to an extent. CP3 will be ailing as Davis hits his prime.

Yah that's why Mark Cuban didn't give Steve Nash $8 million per year when he was 31 and had a gimpy back. Easy decision.

I think the traitor comments are hilarious! Laugh if you will, but in his heart CP still wants to be in NOLA. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he ended up back in a Hornets Jersey. As long as Dell and Monty are here there is a chance that CP will come back.

First, to all you jilted lovers, grow the frick up. CP3 wasn't actually you're girlfriend, he's a basketball player and he's probably the only max level talent we have a shot at signing as a free agent in the next few years.

Second, to all of the, "no way it will happen" crowd, CP3 will have a limited number of choices to make and the Hornets will be far from his worst option. He will already have been exposed the LA market to please his marketing people and if he comes back to the Hornets it would be because he'd push them to contender status and we'll have plenty of nationally televised games keeping his profile high enough to please his marketing people.

I'm personally on the fence about it. Even though Gordon is injury prone, CP3 has a known chronic injury. I feel better giving Gordon max money than CP3. Also, do we want 2 max players that are likely to miss a good many games each year? On the other hand, what other max level talent will the Hornets have a legit shot at in the next 2 years?

While I am mad that he wanted out, he is a top 5 PG and would welcome him back if he wanted to come back. We need to accept the fact that CP3 as our PG would be an upgrade over any one we will have in the next year or two. CP3 + Gordon + Davis + 2012 #10 + solid bench fillers = a top Western Conference team

Agree with this 100%. I would gladly take him back, unless he's hurt.

Why wouldn't he have left for a better opportunity? Even the good players know they are expendable for the foreseeable future so it's not like something out of the ordinary happened.

Sure, it sucks to lose the face of the franchise, but if you look at where the Hornets were (at the time) and where they were headed (at the time), it was an absolute clusterf*ck. Considering his overall numbers didn't increase by much playing with the 'Clips, maybe you guys get him back for even money come contract time - who knows.

Either way, I'm excited for you guys next season - should be a good team although I still hate seeing DWest in another uniform. Dude can ball.
