Trading Jrue was a mistake.

No it wasn't.

We received ridiculous value for him, he didn't want to be here, and he just signed a new way overpaid contract. His value is only going down from here.

We made out like bandits in the Jrue trade.

I define Jrues value, a top 25 player, as uber talented 2 way player on the court who can play off ball and set a defensive tone as well a locker room leader.

You know what’s going to happen with those picks? We’re going to flip them for a top 25 player between 27-31 years old, to be the leader of a young team. Which is what we had already. The difference being we know Jrues relationship with the organization was pretty solid. It is an unknown what we will get back.

Now if it’s Dame, CJ or Beal?Cool, sign me up. If it’s KP? Nah.

*I know the # picks will change upon the value of Player X coming in.

Just wondering, does Trajan Langdon do anything...anything at all?

He's the GM, and it's usually the GM who gets shite for all the moves but we almost never ever talk about him, and all the moves are on Griff.

It’s all just titles. Some organizations the GM calls the shots. For us it’s Griff the POBO.

Langdon essentially took a lateral move from asst GM to GM but he got the bump in job title.

Jrue playing for one season and then leaving doesn’t help.

Having a bunch of picks you can trade does.

At this point I'm dumping everything I have to go after a 3rd star. I give no fricks if its a massive overpay for a guy like dame. fricking hell. We need to win next year and keep this dude. NOLA can turn into a basketball city or we can lose the fricking franchise. It's insane.

And how would Jrue be doing that starting this offseason?

Zion is ready now. I don't know what the odds are that he signs the QO, but if you got any indication that it's greater than a super longshot, you go all in now. Hell, even if you were 100% certain he was signing the max, you probably still want to go for it starting next season. He's ready.

1000000000% ready. He has a chance to be the next iteration of Jordan/Lebron. A total monster that cannot be stopped.

I don't know how much jrue really fixes, but we're definitely in the playoffs this year if we kept him and didn't have adams/Bledsoe.

1. You think Jrue would have given us a team that could win a 1st round matchup with PHO, UTA, LAL, and those teams?

2. Again, and as of this offseason, what would the team/assets look like going forward? 1 season of Jrue was just not worth keeping around for what we were able to get for him

We're definitely not outside the play in, but I also don't think we're getting past the 1st round.

Like any business, this starts at the top. Benson, Lauscha, Loomis, whoever else, has failed with choosing Demps and now Griffin

This organization has now sat on potential gold mines with CP3, AD and now Zion. Three generational talents should not be this difficult to build around and find sustained success. The fan base has turned out whenever this team was hot.

On top of failing to build a winner, the game day experience sucks and the marketing of the team has been piss poor. So much potential that has never been fulfilled

Agreed, and yet, those of us that could see this for what it was at the time were piled on and attacked because no one should dare question Lord Griffin.

….Except for the Jrue trade, it was still the right move.

I refuse to completely reject the idea that if the Pels were a playoff team, and they would be with Jrue, that he would dismiss the idea of re-signing.

I also think we match up with the Suns starters pretty decently with Jrue. Provided a an above average rim protector.

Well, he flat out said that he had asked for a trade. So...we have his word?
