Human beings are optimists, by nature. Look at every woman in the history of the world - they think they can change a man. "Yeah, he's a cheater, likes to party and go out, doesn't seem to have ambition, but I can change him!" This is the thought process of every woman who goes after the bad boys.

Coaches and GM's are exactly the same - they think they can change these young men. They point to the couple of times in league history somebody has or that they have and think they can do it again.

And 19 times out of 20, they are wrong.

But I can't say in words how much the coaching staff dislikes his game

Is it because he plays too slow on offense and can become a black hole of sorts? IMO it seems like for every great drive he makes, he goes into the lane and does a crazy spin and throws up a contested shot.

Wow. I'm not a huge fan of his game, especially as a key piece but I didn't think it was that level. Is it an attitude thing? Like is he uncoachable?

He is a good kid, but he values things that a young naive kid does and not the things a grown, adult coach does.

I have been told there have been multiple times this season where Randle has heard Gentry's criticism and said something g like, "Coach, I put up 25!" And Gentry yelled back, "Yeah, but you gave up 30!!!"

A couple teams like him for a very specific role and I think Pels will move him to one of those teams. But the offers ain't great and will still be there in 6 days, so why not wait and see if you get a better one?

very unsurprising to hear. Randle is a black hole out there. the casual viewer can tell he is all about himself and his stats.

Let's vaguely define "ain't great".

Ain't great to me would be an average player with more years on their contract and a fake 2nd round pick.

Better than that or about that?

CMM< what happened to the interest in Randle by the bucks? Since maker wants out, do you think its a possibility Brogdon and Maker for Randle?

Can't remember what they offered.

It would have to be something different for salaries to line up, and I think at this point that's more than we could hope to get for Randle

That was some random poster, likely completely false.

What's your opinion on Zion, Barrett, and Morant? You win in the NBA on the perimeter, so give me the perimeter guys, imo.

Ug. I guess beggers can't be choosers but I'm definitely waiting until the deadline to see if anyone else pounces.

That's just lazy. If everyone is equal, sure. But is Wiggins helping Minnesota more than Towns?

You can't be that lazy with your takes.

I think Zion is the best prospect of the three by quite a bit personally

Unless he tells us he isn't resigning, I rather hold on to him going forward.

I don't understand Zion's game in the NBA at all for now.

Absolute freak athlete, but he's a 6'6" PF that can't shoot and I wouldn't say is an amazing defender or anything.

How many 6'6" PFs are really, really successful? Barkley? And this is a completely different era. He doesn't have the perimeter game of a 3 and is undersized for a 4.

Amazing athlete though. I don't know. I'd almost want the #2 pick and just role with Morant, I know what I'm getting there imo.

Everything is equal in my scenario. I think Zion is the best prospect as well, but I think Morant has a bigger impact as a wing.

I don't get the rush in trying to trade Niko. He is literally the "4" you want for this league.

Moore and Randle tho? Trade em
