Lakers Fricked...no room to sign a max player this year...VANITY TRADE IS VANITY TRADE

Or maybe JJ REDICK Free Agent
The media won’t come out and absolutely say it, but LA is fricked.
That 5 and bench players aren’t winning dick with a 35 yr old James and even a 100% healthy Anthony Davis.
This will go down as the greatest trade in NBA history.

They are so fricked for the foreseeable future. Even if they make the playoffs they will limp to it, and be a 1 and done or a 2nd rd out.
Meanwhile we might take a year or 2, but we will be set up to win and compete for multiple championships in the 2020s

Here's a write-up from a Real GM poster showing a little more how much LA fricked up.

This was nothing more than desperation by Pelinka to get a big name and do something that the media and LA fake people will slob his and the Lakers’ knob for getting another big name.
But unless FA desparelty want to just play for the Lakers and TAKE LESS MONEY- they are a 2 man team with NO ONE ELSE. I MEAN NO ONE ELSE.

They can sign Two very good players with the 25 mil they have available. Use the full MLE on another good player and then get some ring chasing veterans.
Players below 20 mil. - Bogdanovic, Brogdon, Barnes, and Redick
Players to get with MLE - Ross or Beverley
Players in the 5 mil range - Green, KCP, Bullock, Rose, or possibly Rondo
Veteran ring chasers - McGee, Stephenson, Melo, or Stephenson
They can sign Two very good players with the 25 mil they have available. Use the full MLE on another good player and then get some ring chasing veterans.

When I read the story of him telling the Lakers the Kobe Bryant Heath Ledger story I nearly cried laughing so hard.
Pelinka told the lakers that Bryant was so moved by Heath Ledger’s performance he demanded that he and Ledger have dinner and so Pelinka made this happen.
The problem of course being that Ledger died 6 months before the movie came out.

There's a moratorium while the league is auditing all the BRI at the end of the fiscal year. No teams actually sign anyone on July 1 (in fact I would bet the moratorium ends on July 6). They "agree" to terms.
Teams can shift the timing of the signing of deals to give them maximum space/flexibility.

They still minimized their maneuverability by when the trade executes.
Cost of AD, trade kicker, ability to sign players then make the trade, etc.
