I so desperately need us to make the playoffs this year to stop with this shite.

fricking sack up and build a team. If you’re scared of him leaving you’re always gonna be scared.

Just how much of a shitshow last offseason was for us is just so painfully apparent.

We have got to change this roster significantly for the better this offseason.

This is beyond absurd. It’s year 3 and he missed almost all of year 1. He’s played 1 collective season.

Think about it from Zion's perspective.

Year 1 he barely played because the team was overly cautious with him. You could tell he was as frustrated with not playing as fans were and he more tolerated the team's choice rather than agreed with it.

Year 2 was just a bad year all around with the pandemic restrictions and the results were essentially the worst case scenario for the Pels.

On top of all that, after every game he gets to hear how fat and out of shape he is despite putting up historic numbers with entire teams schemed to stop him.

Despite photo ops in hat stores and such, he probably still hasn't gotten to experience New Orleans and how the city would have embraced him had it not been on lockdown. Zion just hasn't gotten to experience most of the normal positives yet as a Pel and the negatives have been ever present and amplified.

That the Pels like Kyle Lowry and Griff has always really liked Lowry and thinks incredibly highly and would like him in New Orleans. See him as a culture setter(and both KOC and Vernon strongly agreed with that sentiment).
Wow, this part sounds scarily familiar to the comments about Adams when Griffin traded for him. Another overpay?

I’m sick of old washed up “culture setters.” This stupid franchise has brought in about a million of them. James Posey. JJ. Adams. Etc etc

How about focusing on FIT. SKILLSET.

The Pels blew 14 double digit leads last year by being young and dumb. Lowry definitely could have helped hold onto more of those games. The problem with Lowry is going to be the cost. Maybe not even the cost this year, but in 2-3 years from now, because you know he won't come to the Pels if we aren't offering the most money.

Kyle Lowry

Question, in what world is a 36-year-old Kyle Lowry even close to as valuable as Jruew holiday?

Completely agree. What a shitty year to be desperate to sign a FA. Griff is an arse clown.

The length of the contracts. We weren't willing to pay Jrue an average of $34 Million through 2024-25.

Their regular season stats this year were pretty similar.

Zion came to Summer League out of shape. The bubble out of shape. This season, in so-so shape

My thing is: Dont worry about the FO. Lets see you come into camp in best shape of your life. Control what you can control. Do that & dominate, and still lose, and then you can complain

Mac's comment isn't wrong, but as others have said, it's not how the league works. On the other hand, I fully believe that David Griffin is using some of that in talking with Zion right now. I envision a conversation like this:

"You want us to blow our wad now and become contenders this upcoming season? Well, the only way we become contenders is if you're a top-10 player. If we're going to send out first-round picks to get someone so that we can contend now, then you are going to report to camp in 'point-guard shape' and you are going to start doing defensive workouts now, and you need to be prepared to be more of a leader on and off the court. Your mom can't be your chef anymore -- it's time to be a pro."

But, as concerns Zion's mental state and level of dissatisfaction with the franchise, I think that the Bucks' win in the Finals was really a good thing. Giannis is the closest comp that there is to Zion in the league, and he disproved the line that I've heard recently (including on this board) that champions are led by guards or wings, and that a big man can't lead a team to a title. It was good to hear Giannis talk about how sweet this title was, because he stuck it out and was patient and worked for eight years for the title, instead of going somewhere to team up with others to get it. You know that Zion heard and processed all that.

Everything that I have read and seen continues to tell me that Zion is not unhappy with the city or the front office -- he's unhappy with losing. I don't think that reflects badly on him at all, but I do hope that David Griffin is getting some commitments from him in exchange for shelling out the money and picks for someone like Lowry.

Giannis wasn't a big man, he was the best player on the court by a wide margin because not only was he more talented than everyone else, he was hungrier than everyone else. He didn't pout because Jrue and Middleton were missing shots, he played harder on defense.

Giannis' performance in game 6 really was the blueprint for Zion to dominate.

And Giannis was demanding the ball, because he knew that Jrue and Khris weren't shooting very well, and he was in a zone and could barely miss one FT. So, he got his 50-piece. In Game 5, he let Jrue dominate, because Jrue was in that zone.

One of the things that I'm most hoping to see out of Zion is a readiness to be ball-dominant when necessary.

Why not? How many of those games did we lose due to just making terrible decisions down the stretch?

Lowry is a very high IQ player.

He’s 35 and he’s no CP3. Please tell me this isn’t what Griff’s big plans are to keep Zion

If we're waiting for a guy to be as good as CP3 before making a move, that's a bad idea.

Do you have a better realistic option to improve the team this offseason?

More so his family. But seeing how the guys drafted after him like Morant, Reddish and RJ were in the playoffs, it does sting a bit.
