He’s a tough fit…he’s not someone you can build around so the tankers aren’t all that interested in him. Contenders are lukewarm on him because you need to find a roster his game fits with, the cap space to extend him, and the assets to have us interested.

Sac seems to make the most sense but we’re either disagreeing on the framework of the deal or griffin is hoping a dark horse emerges.

Considering DDR just got about $24m a season and they are now hard capped? They are either out or doing some major reshuffling to take in an additional $36m.

He's just a better version of Ingram that won't win them anything

Pretty much. A ball dominant wing that’s allergic to 3’s.

You’re right but his stats are similar to Paul George but hes much cheaper. He stays really healthy- played most minutes last year and plays very well in close games. I don’t know if he’ll help them win a championship but I do think he makes them better and from a creation standpoint they don’t have to just rely on Fox.

I think I would call the trail blazers and do a deal around Jeremi grant and a couple young guys like Simmons/sharpe, and Robert williams.

Not the greatest return but I like sharpe and williams could be at least a backup center. Jeremi grant is a good defender and the money would match.

Pels should've been in on derozan if they really are trading Ingram

I just assume sign him and wait for a better offer than eating a shite sandwich. Value clearly won’t get much lower than it currently seems and I don’t see anything on the table that moves the needle for this team right now.

Have you even looked to see what those guys make?

Simons and Timelord are about equal to BI but that is a shite return.

Ayton ($34m) about equal in salary to BI ($36m).

Sharpe makes $6m and change but would fit into the trade exception for JV.

Problem is that very few of these pieces do much for us.

Ayton is expensive as hell and has been pissy when asked to play 3rd banana or worse, which he would be on a team with Zion and Murray.

I don’t think Simons brings many positives and Timelord, while good defensively, has had injury issues.

Sharpe doesn’t seem to fit our timeline and seems somewhat redundant if we are going to have Murray, CJ, Herb, and Trey all under contract.

TLDR - Portland doesn’t appear to be a good fit for a variety of reasons.

The problem is he said build the trade around Grant + Timelord/Simons/Sharpe

Grant and Sharpe would work, but that’s about it
