As a #1 guy? Agreed
As a 2nd or 3rd option, he'd be a fantastic addition.
The trade in which you would have to execute would be that of a #1 guy.
They would want an AD level haul.
You giving them that?
(No)

Edit: Here’s what I think it would take and why each team would consider it, not what I think our team should do:
LINK
Wolves get all the Lakers picks/swaps and our first rounder this year.
So Wolves get Hayes+NAW+Lonzo+Tyler Herro+Kendrick Nunn, all the Lakers picks/swaps, and our first for KAT. Leondard's expiring makes salaries work.
We basically get Ingram+KAT for AD+a first. Hayes, NAW, Lonzo, and the Lakers picks/swaps all came from the AD trade. You build around Zion+Ingram+KAT. All of those guys would be under contract for 4+ years. You keep Favors, JJ, and Moore. You keep all your draft picks beyond this year.
Heat get Jrue and get off Waiters' contract for Herro and Nunn. Maybe we add the 2 Cleveland seconds or some other little sweetener if that's what it takes.
Obviously this would never happen. But I think Griffin is probably at least thinking about what it would take.

Am I the only one that just doesn't think that much of KAT?
he's an incredible offensive talent whose stats mimic AD on top of being a career 40% 3 point shooter. Offensively next to Zion, they would be phenomenal together. plus he's only 24
the biggest knocks against KAT has is that he isn't a very good defender and Jimmy Butler calling him (and Wiggins) out for not working hard. Butler said both guys were soft. I think the Butler story changed a lot of people's opinions of KAT

He's top 10 in scoring and rebounding. Giannis is the only other player in the league that is top 10 in both of those. He also shoot over %40 from 3. He's a number one for most teams and wouldnt be a 3 for any team outside of LAL.

Def would want him in a jrue deal but I wouldn’t give up Hayes
Posted on 12/30/19 at 3:40 pm to Fun Bunch
He will get more than AD got us.

People are funny as frick. You don’t pass on KAT if he’s available especially if you can keep your core intact.

I’d be pissed if that happened (it won’t) plus waiters is damaged goods and aids in the locker room.

Whether you like KAT or not, do you want max money tied up in a center at all is a valid question.
Centers to win a championship as the best player:
Shaq
Duncan
Olajuwon
Dwight almost did.
That’s it for the last 30 something years.

Would you do Lonzo, Jaxson Hayes,Favors, miller and 3 #1s for Kat?
Posted on 12/30/19 at 3:46 pm to shel311
To compete for a title, the team needs a 3rd player at the all-star level or close to it, to go with Ingram and Zion.
We could try to trade for that player, or we can try to draft/develop that player. I think that Jaxson Hayes could become that player. It's a little bit harder to see, but I think that Lonzo Ball could also become that player. Obviously, we have draft picks who could become that player.
I wonder if the trade works better if you add Robert Covington into it: KAT + Covington for Jrue + Favors + picks. It would just have to be a lot of picks, but we have them. I probably wouldn't do it.

You wouldn't be able to keep your core intact, and you'd be giving up virtually every pick you gained.

And it is my opinion that you wait for a player like that, and you want it be a Guard.
KAT ain't that guy.

Count me as a no. KAT’s offense is great, but I don’t want to invest so heavily in a guy who still needs to be fed and doesn’t play D. I’d rather save ammo and money for a perimeter player. I don’t think I’d want to max any C.
