5 years; 3 on the bench (injured), 2 of actual games played. Say goodbye to AD, Later!! I hope I am wrong but Derps isn't making me feel any optimism.

The injury should not be a concern. Outside of missing half the season twice when going against doctors orders turned a 1 year recovery into a 2 year recovery, he hasn't missed many games due to injury. He is not Eric Gordon or even AD when it comes to injury concerns.

The key fact here is Holiday WANTS to be here. We've treated him like a core player throughout his time here. I think there's a better chance we finally see the Holiday we traded for now that the core has been defined and he doesn't have to worry about Evans and Gordon. I have to believe that Davis, Cousins, and Holiday will develop that chemistry by the all star break.

I don't think people are realistic about how much time it takes for chemistry to develop. There's going to be a lot of trial and error early on but it should look a lot better than last season.

I'm conflicted on Holiday. He is a solid guard and a good player, so its good to keep him. But that is just so expensive and he is just not super athletic or fast. Which is what I covet in a lead guard. Ehh move that is a huge gamble..

You should be. It's not a terrible deal but it's not a good deal either. He's basically locked in as our 3rd best player. I don't think that's asking too much of him, but the problem is we still lack a goto scorer in the clutch. I guess Boogie is the guy we will rely on when we have to have a score at the end of the game. If we had traded for Butler instead of Cousins I think people would be a lot less conflicted about it.

With his big focus on ball handling this summer, I think AD wants to become more of a go to scorer/initiator this season. Boogie is also an option if Jrue never figures out how to be that guy.

As much as people are worried about the role players, when AD/DC were on last year nobody had an answer for them. Hopefully they do make not having a goto perimeter scorer not matter.

Gordon has a way worse injury history and Jrue is a much better defender than Gordon.

gordon is a catch and shoot player who cannot defend

jrue is a better all around offensive player who can defend

comparing apples to oranges

what you should be saying is, i cannot believe JJ Reddick just signed a 23million dollar contract for 1 year

Jrue is worth about 20 mil per, but the Pels had no choice.

Man. I'm relieved to see this thing where it is. They weren't lying when they said AD would make more.

I've probably been watching too much Any Given Sunday, but I hope those incentives aren't "assist" based.

More than ok with waking up to this news

Smart folks on here, and die hard pelicans fans knew that Jrue was a beast who simply had to get past injuries and his wife’s brain issues. His only real problem is the lack of a top dog alpha mentality. If Jrue had Russell Westbrook’s brain, he would be scoring 25 points a game easily.

Jrue has more of a Lebron/nice guy mentality. But he is still a fricking beast!!! Hope all who doubted Jrue feel ashamed now.
