I know maybe some of you haven't watched him given Spurs and all, but what guard comes off the bench in front of him?

It's really no one.

He's a 6'5 guard with a 6'10 wingspan that can knock down open looks, defend multiple positions, passes the ball well, and gets his own shot. Fits with CJ and a better compliment with smaller guys like Jose.

Exactly and we have no idea when dyson is coming back so he isn't taking minutes from him. This is a good trade. We're running out of roster spots, we would have drafted players with those 2nds. This is what you use them for

Spurs Talk says pound-for-pound, he was their best player.

Richardson's big problem has been that he had one great year in Miami and was then pushed to be a starter where he isn't best suited. His defense is good but not great, his offense well rounded but no one aspect spectacular.

Jack of all trades, master of none. He also had a tendency to dribble and take contested mid-rangers. Which he has both got a bit better in shot selection and better at making.

As a 7th man/wing off the bench, he's a really good guy to have...still feel like the deadline was a bit disappointing and maybe foreboding in that Gayle me be even more stingy than I thought.

More minutes for Kira and Jose. To me that’s a win

We screwed up not giving Kira DG's minutes earlier in the season when you can see what you have in Kira.

After the AS break, given where we are in the standings, we can't be messing around, you gotta play your best 10 man rotation.

JR is a nice depth player but not a starter. Still a good upgrade over graham.

I would bet money Kira may go back to DNP and Jose sees a slight downtick, Naji too.

JR is going to play more than people are anticipating.

6'5 with a 6'10 wingspan, puts effort on defense and can knock down open looks.

If Naji could hit wide open catch and shoot threes above 40%

Honestly a better shooter than Naji Marshall. Probably not as good of a defender or distributor

Every time I have watched the Spurs, it has been bet related. That being said, the 10-12 games I have watched, Richardson is a consistent performer. Seems to hit open threes and he can create dribble pull-up 2’s which he also seems to hit at an annoyingly high rate (usually I’m betting on the other team to beat/cover against the Spurs lol)

Absolutely nobody plays defense on the Spurs this year except Maybe Poetl and Sochan (I bet the overs in Spurs games frequently)

So Richardson has been tough to evaluate on defense this season. They have really terrible defensive personnel overall.

Checked the stats to see how my eye test was

He shoots 36% from 3, 48% from the corners

56.5% from 16-23 feet this year and not necessarily on low volume. 12% of his shots come from that area. And a lot are contested pull-ups. So he has been cooking w gas from mid range this year.

No wonder Griff wanted him. JRich has to give weekly lessons as part of the deal.

Do the Pels try retain him next season? If so, what does contract offered look like.

Nope. Pure rental. We going to have a crazy logjam next season with Dyson, Herb, Trey, and Naji vying for minutes. And that doesn't even include the possibly of a rookie.

Sold. Park his arse in the corner and let BI and Z suck everyone to them.

He should. I get wanting splash deal, but this is a great small move. We need more scoring off the bench and he's going to give us that. He can park in the corner's when he's out there with BI or Zion but he can also work to get himself shots. His career defense numbers are good, so the fall off this year has more to do with the spurs than anything about him I think. He's been better off the bench throughout his career so thats a good indicator for us. I think he's gonna take Dyson's minutes this year, and thats ok. I think Jose is gonna average 12-16 mins a game coming in for CJ but I doubt we see CJ and Jose minutes anymore. I could see this cutting into Naji minutes a bit depending on who's having the better night but thats also a good thing as WG can ride the hot hand on a night to night basis. This is a very good pickup for this year and gets us out of the tax for next year which we obviously wanted to do. Outside of Bridges and KD I wasn't big on the cost to make a move this year. Offseason I expect rim protection to be the focus between the draft and FA.

So a first round pick to acquire Graham and 4 second round picks to send him packing?

Not the worst move we’ve seen from Griff, but this was pretty bad
