Solid 7 (pause) that with a lil work over the summer with real NBA players can be on par for what we need from a backup 5 next year.
If he can just turn the knob (pause) about another two dials, it will be very easy to move on from Larry.

Also someone needed to tell Malcolm Hill and Seabron to share the fricking ball when #24 is in town.

Put me in the camp that thinks we've handled Hawk's rookie development perfectly fine. With how deep and veteran-laden this team was, there's no need to push a rookie into the deep end and ask him to sink or swim, but we also still gave him spurts where he played a real role in the rotation to see if he can do it.
Sure, there are rookies in the NBA who can come in and grab a hold of a starting or rotation role right away, but for guys like Hawk who still has some clear defense deficiencies in his game, there's a fine line between throwing too much at him which could lead to developing bad habits/a wrecked confidence, and throwing too little at him and not allowing him to grow and learn from his NBA experiences.
Of course there are some games where I would've liked to see him get some run, but I think, for the most part, we've navigated that line well.

Gone are the days when we drafted someone round 1 and they were expected to be a productive starter out the gate.
But them 2nd round picks tho...

The move makes sense and will benefit Hawk.

Hawk just completely abandoned his man defensively at times to... help rim protect? I dunno what he was doing
Also Karlo is dreadful defensively

You’re really over analyzing gleague highlights. Karlo is defending Clowney- who has been tearing up the gleague and was drafted by the Nets in the first round this year. Karlo is in the right position- Clowney is just better. Hawkins is roaming. He just jumped in to play with the team and probably has no idea what their defensive scheme is. We’ve seen Hawkins defense this year improve against actual NBA players. The dude had a monster block against Bam vs Heat and isn’t a huge liability like he was earlier in the season.

I am 100% overanalyzing a highlight reel from a G-league game. Is that not what we're supposed to do here?

Did we watch the same game?
Karlo got caught ball watching a few times and missed a box out (BI did this a lot for awhile btw) but outside of his guards getting cooked on the first step in drop coverage he had to cover and was in position most of the time?
He picked n popped with Jordan a lot, and has a sweet 3 ball. He needs to put on about 10 lbs and more time with NBA players, but he isnt as bad as you make him to be

I honestly believe Karlo will be a rotation big for us next year. We shouldn’t just ignore how guys perform on our gleague squad. Trey Jamison had 24 and 6 last night in a Grizz win. It sucks we couldn’t find even a 2 way spot for him on this team that lacks big depth.
